Maybe better than I'd hoped for - Amazon Warehouse deal
I've seen that there two highly opinionated camps when it comes to carpet cleaners, Bissel and Rug Doctor. Ive read both sides. The Bissel commercial cleaner is $100 cheaper than the Rug Doctor. The country of origin for the Bissel is China (I applaud Bissel for their honesty). Rug Doctor states the country of origin for their commercial cleaner is the USA, that is not true. The Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 is made in Mexico, the same country that produces Harley Davidsons and is, with Canada, one of the largest and most loyal trading partners with the US. I'd much rather send (part of) my money to Mexico than to China. All that aside, I'm very happy with this machine. My old machine for large areas is a Bissel Power Steamer Pro, an upright style carpet cleaner. Granted the machine is pretty old. At first only the soap dispenser stopped working. No problem, I'm very accustomed to adding soap to the clean water on the rental Rug Doctors I've used. Then it started leaking dirty water as I was cleaning, a much bigger inconvenience. Then it stopping (well got much weaker) vacuuming the water out of the carpet - time for a new machine.I live with a very old person who only recently began using "protective underwear". I needed a spot cleaner and bought a Rug Doctor which I'm happy with. Up to a short while ago i used the Bissel for larger areas.I might still be on the fence between Bissel and Rug Doctor, they're both probably good machines, but I saw a deal on a Rug Doctor in a damaged box for $520, much closer to the Bissel price. I bought it and found it was in perfect condition. Looking it over it's not pretty, there are nuts and screws sticking out all over, a large industrial style plug on the end of the cable, and a prominent serial number plate riveted onto the front of the machine. On the underside, the pickup duct for the vacuum is made of welded aluminum. I don't care about the appearence, I suspect most people in the market for a commercial carpet cleaner also don't care. I wanted a carpet cleaner that wasn't a toy, that was better than marginal in it's cleaning ability. I'm not disappointed with the Rug Doctor. Since I haven't tried the Bissel I can't say anything about it.The still heavily soiled traffic patterns left behind by the old Bissel upright disappeared after using the Rug Doctor, very cool! I'm happy with this purchase.

User Friendly and Powerful
I ordered (2) these for my business. They are very effective at cleaning and maintaining carpets especially in small areas because the machine is smaller than most industrial carpet extractors and therefore can fit into corners better. Very good to have if you work in hotels as a HSKP mgr, or if you have an airBNB-- this will make short work of deep cleaning carpets in small carpeted rooms. I also like that it cleans carpets very close to baseboards without having to use the hand held piece.I would advise buying the separate handheld piece and hose because that allows the machine to do very detailed work and can complete projects other than carpet like upholstery/furniture deep cleaning, deep clean the interior of your car, carpets and rugs, mattresses.Use a low foam cleaning chemical or use a separate foam reducing chemical as an additive, too much foam can get into all the internal parts and create scum that will lower the lifespan of the machine. The final thing I will say about this machine is that it is incredibly user friendy. Everyone on my team has used this without issue as there is ease in maneuvering. There is a button to apply chemical and water as you are extracting and an emergency on/off button. The hoses/parts are easily changeable. Filling the chemical receptacles and emptying the dirty water bucket can be done in a few seconds. If you are cleaning an extremely soiled area, I would pretreat with a despotter or high traffic area stain remover first and let sit for a few minutes, run the machine over it while releasing chemicals, evaluate and run again if still soiled. I have also found that starting with fairly hot water helps to remove dirt better than just using cold water. Awesome ROI at the price point.

Love it! But there are some flaws
I really love it, it cleans excellent and it’s easy to use but my only complaints are that the buckets seem to be a lot smaller than previous models so you’re filling and emptying it out often and what I feel is a design fail when the rug doctor is empty of water when you remove the bucket to discard the water the whole machine tips over for being too heavy so I have to have it leaning somewhere while I am removing and another thing I feel was supposed to be pro but it’s a con is that you have to fill the water directly to the machine in previous models the fill and empty bucket was the same I feel it’s more of a hassle to fill the machine with hott water unless you have a hose it’s a little bit of a hassle since you cannot use the empty bucket as a measurement of how much water you’re putting into the machine other than those flaws it has excellent suction the dry time is usually fairly quick will post picture and videos at a later date but out if 10 I rank it a 8.5

Better than rental!
Has all features of Home Depot rental and I don't have to Go Get It! Stainless handle lock with adjustment, hour meter and back n forth brush. Instead of stainless suction edge, this one has hard plastic rounded suction face. Can't snap carpet like HD unit could if marred up. Upholstery hose is identical to rental one. All made in Mexico which is better than you know where! Really best purchase ever. Just over 400.00. Just bought a 1 Hp floor drier too so now can clean and dry a bunch faster.
