Murphy's Naturals Mosquito & Tick Bug Repellent Spray, 2 fl oz (Pack of 3)

This product deserves a 5 star rating because it is the only product that truly keeps mosquitoes away from me. I find the lemongrass fragrance to be a bit overwhelming at first but knowing that it’s the smell that keeps the mosquitoes away, makes it worth every penny. I purchased this product several times and highly recommend it to anyone who wants an insect repellent that is natural and actually works.

This stuff is great! Smells wonderful and isn’t full of chemicals, which I love. My 4 year old and I get horribly bitten by mosquitoes. My toddler, on his face! This stuff definitely helps to protect us. It’s not oily and coats the skin nicely without causing any irritation or breakouts! I also love the three pack! I just wish the bottles were a bit larger but the 3 pack helps it last a bit longer. Plus, we can leave one at home, one at school, and have one on the go.

So, I guess it works, the hour I had it on I didn't get bit. BUT, I put it on going to a cookout. It smelled soooo strong, and stayed strong. It made me nauseous, and I definately couldn't stand to eat with it on. Left early to go home and shower, even then, scrubbed my skin, twice, still could smell it. Now, I understand it has to smell to repel the bugs, so I only took away one star, but, does it also have to repel people???

Thus far it’s working! It does have a very strong smell, but not chemical. It smells like a concentrated natural scent that dissipates quickly once you’ve walked around a little. I really like that it’s more natural, is not sticky and doesn’t feel like a residue is left. I’ve been spraying this on the bottom of my pants and sundresses and feel good about using it on my fabrics. I would definitely order again.

Ok, I basically never leave reviews, because I just don't have the time. But knowing how much I rely on others' reviews to help me find things that work, I feel it my duty to share. I bought this a month ago for my 3- and 4-year-old kids, especially. We live in DC (which is a swampy, humid, mosquito-breeding steamroom in the summer), and the mosquitoes are just awful and relentless. My kids love to play outside, both at their daycare and at home, but they've just been getting eaten alive, and my daughter gets really bad reaction and swelling when she gets bitten. It's been so bad that, prior to using Murphy's Repellant, they'd only stay in the yard a couple minutes before coming inside, covered in painful mosquito bites. I'd been using a different repellant (Sallye Ander No-Bite-Me Bug Repellent Cream - 2 oz, Natural, Safe for Kids & Infants, Anti-Itch, Moisturizing, Lemongrass & Mint Scent), which smelled pretty good but was sadly not very effective. Back to the drawing board, I did more research and found Murphy's. The reviews seemed promising, but honestly, I've tried so many non-DEET repellants over the years and none of them have worked very well and are always a disappointment. So I didn't have high hopes for this one. Well, my kids' skin doesn't lie! This stuff has worked shockingly well! We apply it in the morning around 8 am before heading to their daycare (they spend a lot of time outdoors there at the on-site playgrounds). It is effective up through pick up, which is around 4:30/5pm. Then if they want to play outside when we get home, we do have to reapply one time, but that will last them the rest of the evening. It's like...night and day. When my daughter has it on, she plays happily outside. When she doesn't, if she plays outside anyway, she comes in crying in 5 minutes from 5-10 painful mosquito bites. My son doesn't get so upset by bites, but I can see them on his skin when he gets them, and since we started using this, he very rarely has bites on him. Here's a quick pro/con list. PRO: -WORKS (at least for us) -Effective even in humid, mosquito-swarming environments -Easy to apply, and after several minutes, it soaks in completely and leaves no greasy or unpleasant residue CONS: -the smell is rather strong when applying and for about 10 minutes after application (but it does dissipate) -it's a bit pricey (but worth it, since it works!) I hope this review is helpful to other folks looking for EFFECTIVE, non-DEET, non-greasy mosquito repellant!

This stuff works. We were camping in southern Illinois surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of ticks that would crawl up our legs as soon as we sat down. We sprayed this on our legs and no more crawling! Also seems pretty good against mosquitoes. The smell is not unpleasant. I like it. It's also safe for a little kids, I gave a couple small containers to my friends with toddlers. The 2 ounce bottles are perfect for your pockets. I also got the 6 ounce aerosol for when I'm in a hurry because the spray comes out faster. Note: The non-aerosol bottles, you need to hold them upright to spray; as soon as you hold them sideways they will not work anymore, because of physics. I thought there was something wrong with a bottle until I realized the tube goes to the bottom so it needs to be upright.

Great for mosquitoes but don’t know about ticks. Smells good not like chemicals.

I’ve finally found a bug spray that doesn't make me feel like I’m wearing a harsh chemical mask. Most repellents leave you feeling sticky and smelling like a laboratory, but this spray is refreshingly different. It goes on light, absorbs quickly without any greasy residue, and has a surprisingly pleasant, natural scent that isn't overpowering. Most importantly, it actually keeps the mosquitoes and ticks away during outdoor activities. Highly recommended for anyone who wants serious protection without the typical "bug spray" experience.
