This is by far my favorite toning shampoo. It smells nice, leaves your hair soft and smooth and definitely reduces the yellow tones of fading hair color. I leave it on for about 5 minutes, a little longer than the directions say, but that works best for me. It’s very effective. It doesn’t leave the ends of my hair purple either, so it rinses clean. It’s a very deep purple so it can stain white towels and if any spills on my light gray tile shower I clean it up quickly. That being said I’ve missed a few drops, and it sat for hours but didn’t stain the tile. I won’t use anything else. Seems pricey but it really is worth it. The bottle lasts a long time and you don’t need to use it daily, so that makes it a better value than you initially realize.

Leaves a horrible residue on my hair. Even after cream rinse. My hair is really tough to comb thru after washing.

I would have to say this is one of the best violet/purple-blue shampoos on Amazon. I have tried 5-6 others and no need to say what kind, but this keratin purple toning shampoo DOES NOT dry out your hair, instead it makes it softer over time... It took out the yellow-orange streaks after a couple uses, since I bleached my hair to a level 8-9 blonde from dark-dark brown. First off, my hair is thin and damaged due to the four bleachs it took to make my hair light blonde over time... If you think you are going to get blonde on the first bleach from dark hair, your crazy, lol. It's going to go through color stages.... Including orange, brass, and yellow hues. Everyone is right to follow the color toning scale (yellow hues - use purple shampoo / yellow-orange - use violet (purple-blue) / orange - use blue / orange-red - use teal (blue green) / red - use green shampoo / and so on... you get the point). The smell isn't overwhelming either, it's lightly scented. However, it does dye your hands purple if you don't use gloves, so I recommend it. On the first use I applied to wet hair and it lightened only a little and one the second usage, I applied to dry hair and kept on for 5 minutes and worked even better... I truly believe this product has the capability of daily use without damaging or drying your hair out even more ... Overall it's a great product. Hope this helps everyone and good luck!!!

Does a great job of getting the yellow out of my hair. Was a little surprised I had to use gloves but I guess it means it really works.
