Great modem for 1gig cable internet
My previous modem went out after years of use, so in a pinch I ran out to the local brick-and-mortar and bought the cheapest Netgear DOCSIS 3.0 modem, which is good for around 600 Mbps download. That was fine as I only had 300 Mbps service, and it gave me about 340 Mbps download. Well, fiber is moving into my area, so the cable company is feeling the heat and bumped me up to 1,000 Mbps (1 Gig) download for no extra cost. That 3.0 modem maxed out around 540 Mbps. So I decided to spend the money and get a 1 Gig DOCSIS 3.1 modem to take full advantage of the speed. The cost of those are 3-4x more, but then I ran across this refurbished Netgear model for $99 here on Amazon, only double the cost. A modem works in the background and connects you to the internet. It doesn't need to look pretty, doesn't matter if it is new, used, or refurbished, as long as it works. I purchased this refurbished model, Amazon got it to me in a couple days, I connected it and I called my cable company to give them the MAC address, and it has been working great since. I typically get 920-924 Mbps down and 53-54 Mbps up. (photo shows a time I got 62 Mbps up, but it only happened that one time). I use this with a NetGear RAX120 wireless router, which supports port aggregation. I recently connected it this way (with 2 ethernet cables between the modem and router) to see if I would get faster download speeds. Well, it won't give any faster speed from the cable provider to the modem, so the benchmark as pictured remains the same, but may help when several people in the family are downloading/streaming at once. Nice to know this modem supports port aggregation and could run at 2 Gig speeds if my cable provider offers that in the future. But downloads are incredibly fast at 1 Gig -- I am very happy with my purchase and to get the same product at a drastically reduced cost buying refurbished here on Amazon.

Works great, quicker download speed than expected.
I've used this just one week so far. It works great and was easy to setup. I'm happy to have bought the refurbished unit and saved $.

Strong Reliable Renewed Cable Modem
I was a little apprehensive about ordering a renewed modem, and the apprehension disappeared once I received it and installed it. I used to be an avid fan of a different brand of modem, again I was and am pleasantly surprised and not only the quality, but he easy use interface to get this setup with my desired settings just right. Netgear has been around for quite some time and they have always been a dependable and reliable source of networking equipment, it's nice to see they haven't lost their touch.

Successfully replaced my rental modem on astound
I purchased this to save on the cable modem rental fee on the Astound broadband service. Set up was easy, as was the conversion with Astound. It works great thus far and is just as fast as what I had on the rental modem. I also like that itโs a bit (physically) smaller than the modem that came with my astound service.

Works as intended, placment options limited.
It is working as intended. My biggest complaint would have to be that the design forces you to mount it upright on a flat surface mounted to its base. I ended up wall mounting the modem with double sided sticky foam. For the price being "renewed" i just couldnt say no to it.

A Must for Xfinity service
I used to have Netgear CM600 (max speed 960 Mbps). My plan's max speed is 200 Mbps so technically CM600 should be more than enough. It has been great for the last 4 years (>100Mpbs) however at some time point, home WiFi got very slow (10~40 Mbps). Later I learned that CM600 has docsis 3.0 and it is not supported by Xfinity. Xfinity webpage showed CM600 is not compatible with their service. So I bought CM1100 (renewed) which supported docsis 3.1. New one's price is $180 (Amazon.com) and $200 (Costco). I know that renewed one is as good as the new one and I would need a newer one pretty soon (in a few years) from the experience. Once I put the new modem and register it to Xfinity, WiFi speed test showed >200Mbps. It is totally worthy. If your home internet is not fast enough, it is time to upgrade your modem. Time changes, and very fast... New technology demands a new equipment.
