This is a great alternative. Other reviews are accurate when they say ...
I use vanilla extract a lot and the prices are so high lately that I have been looking for alternatives. This is a great alternative. Other reviews are accurate when they say it isn’t exactly a pure vanilla extract flavor. It’s a deeper rich vanilla flavor and not as alcohol-ish. I suppose it’s personal preference whether one likes the flavor difference, but I like it. It has a strong flavor but you could use less if you want more subtle flavor for baking.

About the Purity,... and the Price
As for water and alcohol being main ingredients, well.... I think that’s likely the case for any Extract. I extract herbs, sometimes, simply sealing them off to sit in water for 90+ days, or in liquor for 30+. I know some folks also use glycerin, but at any rate, when the extraction process is done, we simply call it a “_____ extract”, but of course, an ingredient list would include multiple ingredients. That being said, at $ .70/oz, this was the cheapest Vanilla Extract, by far, at the time of my purchase. I do think its a smidgen weaker than McCormick. I find I use about a extra 1/3 of this brand, for recipes. For example, if a recipe called for 1 T. Vanilla extract (which is 3 t.), I’d use 4 t. Of this brand/blend. Since I use an awful lot of vanilla extract, the trade-off is very reasonable, in my opinion. Ive almost finished the first bottle, after a month, and will be purchasing another, soon.

So good
I consider myself a pretty experienced baker as I've been baking for well over 20 years. This vanilla is great. I actually prefer it over 100% real vanilla. It is delicious in any baked goods and doesn't have a chemically aftertaste. Its also delicious in egg nog and horchata and drinks where it does not require to be heated. This is my go to Vanilla from now on!

Great vanilla
I bought this knowing it was not pure vanilla extract. I bake several times a week and was getting tired of seeing the vanilla prices keep going up. I started researching and read about mexican vanilla blends that taste just like pure extract. Molina brand had the best reviews so I bought some. I am very pleased with the taste. No one can tell the difference and I like knowing I didn't spend a small fortune! I will be buying this again for sure.

The ingredient label is terrible--not all real vanilla extract!
Wow, it caught me and I am usually more careful...I admit I fell for it so the fault is with me, but because there are probably others like me who assume "Mexican Vanilla" would indicate that it's worthwhile, I'm posting about my disappointment. It is deceptive in that the actual vanilla is probably minimal. As a mostly fake vanilla, it's pretty expensive. The ingredient list is terrible. Ethyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Vanillin (which can be a completely artificial vanilla) all come before Pure Vanilla Extract--then Caramel Color, Ethyl Vanillin (so two types of vanillin?), Potassium Sorbate, Potassium Hydroxide. "Contains Artificial and Natural Vanilla Flavors."

Memories
Nice size bottle. The first thing that came to mind when I opened this bottle of vanilla was my mom making snow cream! It smelled so good! It has been a very long time since I experienced that aroma. I asked my daughter to smell it just to see if she would remember. It was the very first thing she said: Grandma's Snow Cream! I have not used it yet, but just for that vivid memory alone it gets 5 stars from me.

Bad Amazon Foodstuffs
I will preface review by stating that the product was labeled within use by date. Whether it oxidized, somehow turned, I don't know. I do know it ruined a big batch of cookies, as I didn't quality check before using. The taste of this is indescribably awful. Not only am I out several dollars worth of the other ingredients, I am out the $6 that this garbage cost me as there is a NO RETURN POLICY! Period. I am more than unhappy with seller and/or Amazon. I now have to go store and buy all ingredients over again and make the cookies again. All my time and money. Amazon is establishing a reputation for bad food goods. This is the second time for me, personally.

Love it!
This is my first time ordering this product. As a child my relatives would bring us vanilla from Mexico and I remember it being so much better than the store bought. Took a chance on this and it didn't disappoint! Brings back memories.
