Perfect for small TV station live productions.

Good product, at a great price.
We have used a ton of these in production at work. They work great; two small things, first the USB port can only be used to configure networking then you have to control it via a network. Second, once you set a resolution it will do NO SCALING, if the signal doesnt come in at the set resolution it just doesnt show up. Get some DECIMATOR MD-HX Miniature HDMI/SDI Cross Converter with Scaling & Frame Rate Conversion to fix that.

Not OSX compatible
In it's current state, the ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K is NOT compatible with OSX. The refresh rates that OSX uses are generally 60MHz, but the ATEM can only read 59.94MHz. This is not a problem with the ATEM 2 M/E Production Switcher due to a firmware update to allow it to read both 59.94MHz and 60MHz when set to 59.94Mhz in the switcher settings.This was all via a tech at Black Magic. I was told the firmware update is currently in development for the ATEM 1 M/E 4K for it to be compatible with the 60MHz refresh rate, but there is no current release date.I'm surprised that Black Magic, who has always been very Mac friendly, would put out a product that didn't work with OSX.

Awesome!
This thing is truly awesome. We may never fully use everything it can do. We are currently running four Panasonic 3MOS cameras and a computer through it at 1080i with no color or sync problems at all. It is connected to a small network at our church and we can now control the video we record, stream, and project from ANY of our computers. The flexibility relieves a lot of stress. Can you display this here? Yes! Can you put that up over there? Yes! Can you turn that off now and put it back up later? Yes! The delay is minimal and the quality is perfect. Fan noise is a little louder and higher pitched than the typical PC, nothing horrible, but worth noting.

Other than the noisy fan and SDI computer inputs must have a refresh rate of 59.94, it's solid. This has nothing to do with Amazon but with Blackmagic. Wish they would have an option to silence the cooling fans.
