It is a tight little package with 30 useful if not lifesaving items I have not opened it ...
I am a female nearing 70 who has been camping for over 50 years. I purchased this product because I am in transition to ultra light hiking/camping. I have paired down from 49lbs to under 17lbs and still moving to a lighter pack weight. In doing so I have removed or replaced many items in my pack. I have struggled with not having the security of having some of them with me. I value well made, well though out gear with a ratio of low weight to use. I believe this fits my criteria. It is a tight little package with 30 useful if not lifesaving items I have not opened it for fear I could not repackage it. But since I have other Gecko products and I believe in the quality of their equipment. I recommend this product.

A little disappointing
I was disappointed, the compass doesn't work at all, and the whistle is pretty useless. I'm hopeful about the other items, but since the directions say that once I unravel the grenade, I'd never be able to rebraid it, I'm reluctant to check. Does anyone have a grenade or bracelet with instructions on rebraiding so you can actually use/checkout the emergency supplies you're buying? I hate the idea of being in an emergency with supplies that may or may not break. Not reassuring.

Glad I did not get lost with this one...
There are only one or two items that you can test on this item to determine how the hidden stuff inside will perform (and what kind of quality items are included) and the external compass was completely useless. North could point in any given direction at any given time in the same room that a good compass worked fine in. So we sent it back. We give Amazon five stars for taking this back, but Gecko needs to invest in better quality components to earn our business. The whistle did work, and the carabiner looked O.K., along with the paracord, but if the compass is any indicator, you will die in the woods with this one. :(
