Purchased these drives multiple times from various vendors. They last for years and never give me any issues. I will continue to use these drives for years to come.

Old HDDs for cheap but seller makes good on warrenty
Purchase 4-4tb for my old prolient server. 3 of the drives had low power on count but 8+ years on the run time. No errors detected on crystaldisk so I figure we are good. No load clacking or anything. 4th HDD had a higher power on time but only about 3 years of powered on. It clicked and clacked more then the other HDDs but nothing too noisy or alarming. It had 2 reallocated sectors and 5 pending sectors. I figured on a 1+0 raid I could roll the dice and see how long it lasted. 2 weeks later the 4th hdd stopped working on my hard raid. Swapped it out with another 4tb and contacted the seller through Amazon. They asked for the S/N of the drive. Once provided they instructed me to go through the Amazon return process and they would send a replacement.Got the replacement in less then a week of sending the broken HDD back. New HDD was in great shape.Pro's:Cheap!Packaging was great.Seller is responsive and honors return policy.Con's:Old drives they will fail.

Some Good Some Bad but practical in every way checkout this harddrive review!
Oh how should I begin..I’ve read mixed reviews of this seller, for many products but as for myself im in need of a drive. This is how it went for me.At first I had a Seagate Constellation ES.3 4000NM0033 drive in its time just give out this year of 2024 however I had been able to previous back it up as it was used for video games for pc using steam at its time ordered in 2021 , still sad about the 4TB driveso I ended up to see if their were any others and found that this drive the HGST 4TB came with. 5 year warranty which was more than the 3 year warranty I had with the Seagate from 2021 with just 2 years with warrant under the belt.Gentleman refunded my previous drive without a return only asked for a serial number for confirmation which provided and expect to wait 7-10 days for full refund however I was in need of a drive and to my expectations were met however no information towards, upon data recovery from a dead harddrive or any tips as to what i could do or try, just only assisted me with the drive being replaced with refun without a return label but altogether at least i was refund and ordered hopefully but this next functional piece of equipment. AGAIN i take all responisbility upon my seagate drive dying as, ive had power failure with my surge protector and that lead to where im at now... so, for anyout there and for those who use a harddrive enclosure make sure to double check your 12v adapter connection and plugins aswell before turning on your equipment, as thats what resulted it for myself...Anywho back to new orderI first opened the NEW orders May 23rd 2024 around 6pm and the drive from the packages was packed in very well packain and amazing enough their was LAMENATED INSTRUCTIONS AND WARRENTY cards, as this gentleman had wanted to make sure they received a great review for quality assurance and fast delivery, which it was in a days worth! As for instruction are a bit dated for windows but I know my know how for reformatting hard drive through disk management and software alike on Windows 11, 10, 8,7 etc im on windowss 11 but that didn’t stop me.I too also used HardDisk Sentinel to check just how this drive was used in its time. And as it seems, this drive did come with a detection of 1 bad sector however the rest of the drive seems to be very healthy other drives may vary but here are my stats .Although with a reading of Power on time 2277 days, 17 hoursEstimated remaining life time more than 98 daysTotal start stop count 186seems reasonable for a drive thats from 2014. almost 10 years from now in its existance im hoping it can hold up well, being in storage as an offline backup.Goodluck ojn your purchases and gear of course and also please checkout my music on spotify or youtube @ techfreq or beacons.ai/techfreq at least it was just game data for this drive but if it were my music producing collection id be very worreid. please please make backups.

53,595 Power On Hours! Drives Vanished from DiskManager
Well, I knew this was a used HD, but over SIX (6) years in service? Wow. One had only 235 Power On Hours. Drives all LOOKED brand new, so someone had gone over them nicely. I was hesitant to put these in service, so was checking them out w Segate's SeaTools. Three drives initially tested GOOD (4th never removed from sealed static-protective bag). So, I though, well...maybe? Then when going to set them up as replacements for two separate RAID-1 arrays, the drives DISAPPEARED from DiskManager following a reboot. They also vanished from SeaTools, though they had just minutes earlier been recognized and tested as good. This was not confidence inspiring. After a couple more reboots and no HGST drives anywhere to be found, I decided to cut my losses to time spent and return them. They might be FINE for MOST users, but I didn't want to go any further down a path that already looked precarious. Swapping out HDs is not my idea of fun. I'll be paying more and buying new, and paying considerable more...but glad for the no-hassle return option. Oddly, though they SHIPPED to me in a single box, the RETURN process is requiring TWO separate boxes. Go figure.

IT refurb HDD are the great filibusterers to home NAS boxes
Picked up 4 of these for my (internal) mac pro (mid-2012) RAID adapter. After two months: So Far, So Good!Albeit, for drives that were initially manufactured 2013 they are 'Noisy under Seek'. But that's to be expected. And frequently run at approx 135-140 F degreesI previously had WD Black 2TB HDD arrayed, these HGST are def a step down in PERFORMANCE: like approx 305 MB/s less; My NewerTech MAXPower 6G RAID adapter can achieve data transfer speeds up to 500MB/s. But 6TB (RAID 5) doesn't go as far as it use to and I need the (internal) space now.So all finished video projects are archived on this new 12TB RAID 5 array. Editing native 1440p media files off the HGST HDDs isn't impossible, when necessary, but not preferred. But I rarely ever edit of those internal drives since we constantly suitcase (transfer) media files on the go and edit via USB3.1 or TB2 adapterI wouldn't recommend these for ur Priority Back-up (Yes, I have another +12TB NAS on-site), but if configuring on Economy budget, then absolutely be sure to invest in 1 [one] additional HDD at point of purchase, for when, or if, one of these 4TB IT-refub HDDs fails, i.e. RAID 5 degrade.Kinda defeats purpose of investing w 5yr Warranty Seller, but is still cheaper than the alternative.MAIN tasks:- archival- 143 - 150 MB/s Read/Write- NON-boot os or main partition
