Ragu Pasta Sauce, Old World Style, Traditional, 45 Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4)

I couldn't get my normal brand....so indeed up with this one. It was pretty good- no real complaints. It held its own in place of my regular sauce. The family didn't seem to notice the difference much- so that's good.

I like this larger sized plastic bottle of Ragu. It was fresh snd tasted good.

So, its a big jar, but its got a nice resealable screw-on top, so it can go into the fridge for a couple days. Saute a handful of onions, chopped green peppers, even a some zucchini and squash, but do the saute with garlic, a little thyme, some oregano, then mix in the red sauce, serve meatballs on the side, with spaghetti, of course!, just need some garlic bread to have everyone's favorite italian meal. Or, make a meatloaf, about 10 minutes before its done pour some of the red sauce on top, sprinkle some chopped parsley on top of that when it comes out, it looks a lot more elegant than just meatloaf... Or, start your hamburgers on a slow heat in an extra large skillet, then add some chopped onion when there is enough fat from the burgers, put them right into the fat, put black pepper across the whole thing and put on the top, when it is time, turn the meat and pour some of the ragu sauce, put a little water if it needs it, when the whole thing is ready you have burgers that you can serve on a plate without adding salt or bread or stuff... so all three of these little mini-recipes are pretty healthy and super simple because the ragu sauce is majorly convenient. My friend uses it to make sloppy joes, i just don't know how she does it. The point of all this is that we could make the spaghetti sauce ourselves, but it takes a long time, or we could use the ragu and add different kinds of spices to add variety, the product is very heat co-operative, and convenient, so we will keep it on the Subscribe and Save until Amazon sends us a nasty email saying its not available anymore.

Love this sauce! Affordable and super tasty, for pastas and pizza

Ragu has always been a good sauce for my pasta dishes. My mom only used Ragu as I was growing up and even her mom used it. I have tried plenty of other sauces but I always come back to the Traditional Ragu. Can't mess with perfection!

Can't really complain about this. It's not too watery, and is processed rather uniformly to the point I don't notice any skin, stems, nor seeds present in it. It doesn't have any unnatural sugary or salty taste. It's just a nice base of tomato sauce that's got a bit of thickness to it with a rich tomato-y flavor.The packaging is nice. It stays fresh and is easy to keep fresh for a while. I didn't really use it all at once and left it in the fridge after opening it, and didn't find mold growing on it the next time I used it (perhaps up to a week later).Rating it 3 because pre-made sauce these days are really no worse than this, while some are even better. Compared to my favorite, Hunt's *Zesty and Spicy*, this is not that great. I find I can use my favorite on a wide variety of things from pizza to lasagna straight out of the can, while I would need to at least add some lime or lemon juice, some sriracha chili sauce, and other spices to give the acidic taste a bit more kick. It's too bad I can't find my fav at any stores here in SoCal. I'm guessing it was a flavor local to the east coast (FL and NY at least). The other Hunt's flavors aren't really that good.I'm liking the new Ragu Robusto series though, which is now one of my favorites.

I hate RaguThats what I thought till I ate thisThis sauce is so good now (I dont know what changed about me, something did after 2012 Dec 21 ;) )But this sauce feels so good nowI eat it everyday.I start the day with protein drink and use this sauce to flavor it. The lycopene in this is good for health.Then I found out I could use it with pizza I buy often. No matter whatever crappy cheap pizza I buy, it can be made tastier by pouring ragu traditional all over it. Now I try to add this sauce to everything I eat. Makes crappy food very eatableThank you ragu, I think its the cheese in this sauce that makes me like this.5 stars for cheese!!!!!!!!
