I got these so I could make some custom RCA cables or replace a broken plug if I needed to. You can just use regular speaker wire or 12v wire if you need to. I wouldn't use them for long runs unless you have shielded cable though. Also, you might want to use heat shrink tubing around the connection points. Use the right size screwdriver and wire so that the connection is solid and you don't strip the screw heads. Easy to use and the quality of the connections seems good. With RCA connectors you can just pinch the sides of the sleeve if you need a tighter fit, and you can use electrical tape or large heat shrink tubing if you want to really secure the connection.

I tried to use stranded wire, but that simply does not work well. The compression system used by the plugs allows the stranded wire to untraveled and the wire to pull out easily. It's best for solid wire, but if you are attaching the end of shielded audio wire, the shield may twist around enough to come out of the plug. I'm not sure how I'll be using these, but they may come in handy when the right circumstance comes up with the correct solid wire and gauge.

I need a cable to connect my sound bar sub woofer output to power sub woofer, one end RCA and one is stripped, and I have plan to relocate my sub unit. So the length maybe change in the future, after I shopped around, most of them over $10 for a 6 foot, and more for longer in length, then I found this one that fit my need , which is little over $5 for 4 pieces, since it for sub woofer, I just use a regular 18 gauge speaker cable that I already have, i can easy and cheaper re-length in the future.
