Mepilex Transfer consists of a thin sheet of a hydrophilic open-cell polyurethane foam, coated on one surface with a layer of soft silicone, presented on a plastic film carrier. This soft silicone layer is slightly tacky, which facilitates application and retention of the dressing to intact skin, but does not cause epidermal stripping or pain on removal. The permeable nature of the foam allows exudate or wound fluid to pass through it into a secondary absorbent layer placed on the outer surface. The gentle adhesive bond formed between the foam and the peri-wound, skin tends to inhibit the lateral movement of exudate thus reducing maceration of the surrounding tissue. Mepilex Transfer is suitable for many types of wounds. It can be used in combination with secondary absorbent dressings for exuding lesions, or applied on its own to give protection to fragile skin. It may also be used under compression bandaging. This product is available in two sizes.

It's applicability to wound transfer and healing for venus stasis /ulcerations and healing
I like this product as recommended to me by the wound Socialist at Kaiser Medical Center in Riverside, Ca.However with two legs and with 6 bandages used a week or 3 changes in 7 days a week at$ 10.00-$13.00+ dollars it is approximately $ 75.00x 4 weeks or $ + 300.00 dollars month minimum so it is a bit expensive

I really use this prodcut due to open wounds that will not heal and the wound center uses them I try to take care of them at home inbetween and they do help with the healing process

MUST MUST as a cyclist who has crashed.
As a competitive cyclist, unfortunately, sliding crashes are common in our sport, resulting is major "road rash." In the past bad abrasions were usually a week long extremely painful ordeal made worse by bandages sticking to oozing and weeping wounds and when you removed them they reopened the wound.None of that happens with this magic material. NONE. The wound begins the process of drying under this cover and when it comes time to remove it simply, utterly painlessly, comes off. I mean it when I say magic. My recent crash wounds were dry and healing in 48 hours not 1 week.I simply don't care how expensive this is. I'll buy and use this in the future. This is magic, wonderful stuff.
