first off this story doesn't really tell us anything we haven't already seen in movies like "It's a Mad
Okay, first off this story doesn't really tell us anything we haven't already seen in movies like "It's a Mad, Mad World" and the like. BUT it's still a hilarious ride, because what it does do is take any number of comedy greats like Seth Green and Rowan Atkinson as well Whoopie Goldberg and many, many more and throw them into an impossible situation that will make you laugh until you can't breathe. The jokes are funny, often original, and the delivery is impeccable. Roland Atkinson's character could have carried the entire movie with his lines and scenes and that's simply one small part of the film to give an example. The plot of course is a group of people in Vegas turn up at an event after winning a coin that invites them to a special event. There the guests are told by John Cleese's character that they are to take part in a race to Silver City, New Mexico where a locker full of cold hard cash awaits the first person to get there. And 5-4-3-2-1, let the games begin!Without giving much of the plot away I will leave you with these bits of wisdom learned from the movie. If a woman who looks like Kathy Bates tries to sell you a squirrel, just buy it and save yourself the impending disaster that awaits if you don't; Roland Atkinson will steal an entire scene from everyone simply by being in the background and doing exercises in preparation for the big race, AND always verify that the museum you think you're taking your kids to is what it sounds like first BEFORE you discover it's a white supremacist museum and you have to steal Hitler's car to get away.'Nuff said, it's not a life-changing film but it's fun. And plus yeah, shout out to Silver City!

An underrated piece of comedic gold!
I liked almost everything about this movie. Major stars - John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson, Jon Lovitz, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Seth Green, Amy Smart, and more. It is definitely slapstick but the situations are ridiculously creative. My entire family enjoys this movie. I do not understand why it did not fare better in reviews. Honestly, I could have done without the 'I Love Lucy' bit, and in the bonus features, you can see that they cut the 'Ricky Bus'. While I am glad they cut that scene, it left a little gap in the story line. I am, however, very sad that they cut the 'House Moving' scene - it was fantastic. If you get this movie (which you should), make sure you check out the deleted scenes. There is one scene where a girl shows off a piercing that could have been left out. We skip over that 5 seconds, and hilarity ensues afterward. All in all, an amazing, feel good laugh-fest. I have laughed several times writing this just thinking about the nonsense.

I give only 3 stars for anything Average... BUT
Rating movies is a sacred task. It must be weighed in against many factors. As a COMEDY, this is still something I don't take lightly... and neither should you. I virtually Never give five stars. It is nothing like the comedy of "Glass Onion." However, this is almost a clone of the Great "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" from 1963. AND this was able to get all the laughs in half the time. Very similar, but not any form of a remake. (But I bet it influenced the writers.) The ENDING is awesome and not what I expected. Some people might call this a "dumb" comedy, but I believe it shows human nature at the best we can do. Please watch "Rat Race."
