Science is fun
Max really breaks it down for you. I love these books. We homeschool and I am introducing physics, chemistry and biology to my 7yo son. Max takes some really difficult concepts and explains in a way that is relatable and exciting. Better than boring ol' textbooks for sure.

8yo loves the series
8yo son loves this whole series - it's not terribly advanced, but gives a good overview of the subject matter. I think the point is to pique the kid's interest, then if they want more info they can go to a more in-depth source. But a fun read and we'll be getting more in the series!

Love the series just wish the books were longer
The idea of these books is great, but they need to make the book longer with more of a plot so that children have time to get into the adventure and learn the information.

My wife uses these in her 5th grade classroom and the students really like them. She found it especially useful with reluctant readers.

Great books. Poor glossaries.
I am very much enjoying these books, and I am trying to read all of them. Re-learning and remembering a lot from my grammar and high school science courses. Bringing back good memories. My only complaint are the glossaries. In "Decoding Genes," I do not need help on how to pronounce "base" (BAYS) or "DNA" (dee-en-AY), for instance, but I would like help on how to pronounce "deoxyribonucleic," and that word is not listed in the glossary. Many books in the series have glossaries like "Decoding Gene," where the pronunciations of simple, basic words even abbreviations are listed but not the pronunciations of complex words.
