Lamy Love
Love Lamy pens, really comfortable to hold and write with all day. My fave is the Joy because the length of the barrel is nice to wield. Like that the holder isn't silver and a great colour to use and the ink window makes it easy to see how your ink is going. i use a converter to make swapping inks easier. changed the nib for italic too which is silly easy, you attach a piece of sellotape and it easily comes off. The Bureau were absolutely lovely to deal with, genuine humans with care (unlike the amazon delivery which had completely battered the packaging). Thank you :)

Another Safari solid performer
On sale for just over 40 years, this is one of the world's favourite cheap fountain pens. What more is there to say? Three things:* For me, this was my first fine nib fountain pen. It took a bit of getting used to, but that may partly be related to the next point. There's a sensitivity to the pressure you exert on the paper which I don't notice with medium nibs, but maybe I just had the experience of adapting to them long ago.* The black coating on the nib will gradually wear off the writing surface of the nib point, and until that happens, it may feel scratchy. If so, persevere …* The terracotta colour of this pen (and its "Savannah" (dullish green) partner) as a short-term choice is apparently a commemorative throwback to the colour of the first two Safari models back in 1980. Or like me, you can just see it as an understated alternative to more common bold versions of red on a pen body.
