DetaS1299 Slimline Twin 13 Amp DP Switch Socket + 3 USB Charging Ports (White)

These USB sockets are the same brand as existing non-USB ones I'm replacing. I bought 6 overall and the ease of installing them ranged from acceptably difficult to a bloody nightmare. Yes, the Deta data sheet says that these fit into a 25mm back box (unlike the S1298 which requires a spacer) claiming - "Can fit in 25mm back box, although deeper boxers provide more wiring space" and that's the key... it's tight, very tight!The box of the socket that projects into the void seems to be unnecessarily tall... so your first task will be to ensure there's no additional plaster going slightly over the edges of your back box, then clear any detritus out - everything, and then finagle things so the wires allow it in - if your wires come into the void through the bottom of the back box I found it especially difficult to get the socket in... they all went in, in the end, and all of them work fine.The sockets I was matching appear to be more of a cream colour, but I don't see any colour options, so that must be simply age showing an effect - these are a very bright white, noticeably so, when close to an older socket.I would buy them again if needed, but I would advise deeper back boxes to make your life a lot easier.
