Small Compact Diffuser that Works Well
I’ve been using this diffuser for about a week now and it works really well. First it has a nice wooden finish and the inside has a plaster inner coating to prevent the unit from getting water damaged. It’s very easy to use by filling the water to the fill and placing a few drops of essential oil. It also has very useful controls for Continuous, Intermittent mode or 1 or 2 hour timers, unlike the plastic version which didn’t have those features.

Reliable, Quiet, and Works Great
I've used NOW Foods Bamboo Ultrasonic Diffuser almost continuously for just over a month, since my husband got this for me for Christmas. (In fact, it's running as I write this review.) This diffuser is fantastic. PROS: It works - always a bonus. It's quiet - even my husband who wakes up at the slightest sound finds this diffuser to be pleasant and quiet at night, even when the diffuser is on intermittent. Very aesthetically pleasing - It's real bamboo on the outside, not plastic wood wanna-be. It's dependable - no glitches, and simple to figure out (especially if you're like me and read directions). Price - I figured instead of buying an ultrasonic diffuser for $150 from Young Living, I could get this, since the technology is well-known. Name brand recognition - NOW Foods is a solid company. There's a setting where the diffuser displays a band of color, too. Our 16-year old likes that! (I like it as well. The light is cheery, and you can turn the light display off if, for example, you want the diffuser running at night, but you don't care for a night light.) CONS: The only con I can think of is, if you have a very large open area you want to diffuse oils in, one diffuser won't suffice. For us, this diffuser works perfectly in our bedroom or living room, though. If you have a large area, consider getting a few... But I think that applies for any diffuser. (I'd still choose this diffuser.) WHAT OILS TO USE: As a note, if you use cheap oils, the best diffuser won't do squat. Since I used to work in a lab with fragrances, and was trained to evaluate quality by smell (as well as other fancy testing equipment like Gas Chromatographs, etc.), I can tell you most essential oils on the market aren't very good. You get what you pay for. So don't be shocked if your $8 oil doesn't "work" in your diffuser. The diffuser works fine, it's the oil. There are good oils out there, don't get me wrong. You just have to be at peace with paying for quality. ONE KEY THING TO UNDERSTAND: Realize that essential oils rise to the surface of the warm water you put in the diffuser. Also realize that the ultrasonic diffuser diffuses oils from the surface of the water, mainly. So don't be too surprised if the scent coming from your diffuser is not as strong 8 hours later. Just add a drop or two of whatever you're running, and life will be good. (Oh, if only other things in life were as easy to solve!!!) SUMMARY: If you're looking for an ultrasonic (real) wood diffuser for essential oils, I strongly recommend this diffuser. The combination of price, manufacturer, and function makes this a solid choice.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed with this product. It's beautifully made and looks lovely in the living room, however it's not worth the money. Set it up the first day and everything worked fine, however I noticed that it was very warm by the time I turned it off. Cleaned it and filled it up the next day and it wasn't working. Opened the lid and all the vapor came out, but for some reason it wouldn't come out of the hole at the top. I thought it was user error and dumped some of the water. A couple hours later I checked it and noticed that it was very warm and again there was no vapor. I opened the top (as it was running) and noticed that the little round plastic disk had partially melted off and that the water was extremely hot. This of course caused the oils to break down and no longer have any scent to them. I again cleaned it out and filled it up. After slit running for about an hour (without the little round plastic piece inside) there was a puddle on the stand it was on. Because that little piece was no longer attached, the water was jumping out of the little hole meant for the vapor. As beautiful as this little defuser it, I had better luck with less expensive plastic ones. I think that the wood unfortunately acts as an insulator and causes the water to heat up which then destroys the essential oils.

The Best Diffuser I've Ever Owned...
I've bought several cheaper diffusers (and a few more expensive!) in the past and I wish I'd spent the extra money and just bought this one right off the bat. Every other one I've bought has been disappointing for one reason or another... They either broke after a few weeks or months of moderate use, they had hardly any scent throw, low mist output, or both, they weren't nearly as attractive as their picture or were downright cheap looking or flimsy in their construction, they had a too small water well, they were noisy, hard to clean and refill, etc. This one is perfect in every area that the others failed and absolutely well the higher price. I leave this diffuser out on my counter all the time because it's attractive and therefore I now use it every day. It's so easy to fill..just lift the lid and add water and oils, replace the lid and push the button. No snaps or dots to line up. It's real bamboo (which is a grass, technically, I know) not fake wood like the other "wood" diffusers I bought and therefore, so much heavier than the others. It just looks and feels better all around. The first time I used it, I was astonished by the amount of mist it produced. The other cheaper ones I had, released nowhere near this amount. For me, mist output is the single most important factor in a diffuser. None of my other diffusers even came close to this one. My house, which has a completely open floor plan on the first level, was quickly filled with spearmint scent from the oil I used. Other than some occasional bubbling sounds, which I happen to like, this thing is completely silent, motor wise. I've attached pictures so you can see the mist output. It is substantial. I really love this diffuser and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed if they buy it. Well worth the extra money.

Pretty bamboo essential oil diffuser!
I bought this diffuser a little over a month ago, and since that time I have used it nearly every day. I love scented things. So, over the years I've used candles, incense, reed diffusers, tart burners, scented oils and essential oils in diffusers with the tea candles underneath. Although there is something to be said for "no tech" oil burners that use candles, there is also something to be said for flameless scent distribution. Especially for those with pets, kids, people - and this is all of us! - who might possibly forget a tiny tea light candle is burning before they go out for errands. Is it likely your house will burn down from candle use? Probably not. But household fires aren't exactly uncommon either. And personally, as a pet-owner with a blind dog and with a naughty curious kitty, I like not having to use candles. After all, there are only so many times you can watch the cat jump on the side table, ignite her fluffy bum fur as she passes a large glass candle (that was full, though the wick was properly trimmed, the candle tamed and topped with one of those metal candle toppers) then instantly go streaking through the house because she terrified herself by being on fire and not knowing how to get away from it. I have to tell you, this is a horrible moment when - within a second or two of time - you think a million things like "GASP! Poor kitty!!" and "What do I do?!" and then "Oh my god, she is going to catch the curtains, rug, bedding, closet, etc. on fire, too!!!!" Luckily for us, and kitty, she must have run so fast she somehow quickly doused, rather than fanned, the flame, but this was a dramatic event and it is one reason why I love the safety of no-flame scent distribution! And hopefully you don't have to experience anything similar to feel the same way! :-) So, I love this diffuser. I use it was NOW and Aura Cacia oils, primarily. Here are the reasons -besides not being able to catch my cat on fire- that I love this diffuser! 1. It's pretty. There are a lot of decent-looking diffusers out there, but very few that aren't plastic. Though interior components are (BPA-free) plastic, they are encased in this lovely bamboo container. There is a NOW Solutions logo, but it's engraved in the wood, so it looks nicer than most logos do. The buttons are visible enough to read, but small enough to not be gaudy or obtrusive. 2. It has a small footprint. You can see the size if you refer to my attached photos which show me holding the unit. Its base it probably similar in size to a baseball to Naval Orange sized circle. 3. It's quiet as a mouse. It has a little sound to it, so it isn't 100% silent, but I usually have a small air filter and computer running that have fans that completely obliterate anything this little guy may do with it's whisper quiet motor and tiny poofs of scented "vapor". 4. It's completely cool vapor. In a small bedroom that seems to get the brunt of the heat of the sun, and to heat up quicker than the rest of the house - having a candle on or if this were to burst small puffs of hot air - would just be one more thing to make the room stuffy. If you have kids or pets it would also be nice to know this won't be bursting out a poof of piping hot steam, too. Steam burns are some of the worst kind so nice to be able to avoid that possibility entirely. Aside from comfort and safety this keeps the scent of the oil more pure, which is always a good thing! 5. If you put this on intermittent it will run for hours upon hours. I haven't timed it exactly, but I've put it on during the day and had it running the next morning. The scent is softer by then, but it's nice that it can go so long without needing to be refilled. 6. It's (mostly) easy. See my first con below, though. Take off the top, put a little warmish water up to the line, drop 5 drops of oil, plug it in, turn it on, maybe select intermittent setting and bam! Scented diffusion for hours! When it's done carefully pour and/or blot with a little cloth and go again. Cons or Things to think about: The plug input is on the bottom, in a little inverted area. It's either a hassle to unplug and plug back in - full of water - or you need to find a way to conveniently clean and bring water to the unit. I personally have just unplugged, drained, cleaned and refilled, but it is annoying to carefully hold the unit upright - full of water and oil - while you find the plug inlet by touch and/or hold it high enough and/or crouch to peek up at... you get it. A little annoying and something to consider. And for the manufacturer I would suggest a side plug in the future, for ease of use. The light - I can take or leave it - honestly. I like colorful things but I don't use this feature often. Probably because for some reason I have a hard time pressing the buttons to move the light from default red to rotating through the colors. I can't seem to nail down how fast to press the button twice to go from on to on-and-rotating. I can get it to happen. It just doesn't seem consistent and so I often press the button on off on off on off a million times before it switches to rotating. And for me rotating is so... disco. Honestly I would love to pick the solid color, because my single biggest complaint - though maybe I am doing it wrong like with the rotating light scheme - is that the default solid light color is red. Red is not really soothing to me. I like red but I can't say I want a glowing red light to relax to. Red makes me think "Star Wars Deathstar" more than "relaxing spa day!", if you know what I mean. So if solid had to be one color it should be something more soothing like blue, perhaps... or purple or green. Anything but red. If you know how to swap the default solid color on this thing I would love for you to leave me a comment. UPDATE 01/10/16: A kind commenter mentioned how they got their light to work for a new solid color other than red. Not sure why I failed to get this to work before myself, but such is life and I'm grateful the commenter helped me get my light going properly. Now I can swap between purple, green and blue! Hooray! :-) Final thoughts: Great diffuser. Like it a lot. Use it A TON! And would give 5 stars if the plug weren't annoying and the lights worked better. Probably should give it 5 stars considering how much I like it despite those two flaws but 4 stars feels more honest. Hope this helps! One final note: I use pure essential oils or pure blends, primarily. I once used a NOW Rose Absolute, which is rose oil blended with... I think it's Jojoba oil? Anyway, after a rather short while the essential oil scent was gone and it smelled like Jojoba oil, which isn't bad necessarily but it's not at all what I want my home to smell like. From then on I vowed to only diffuse full strength oils. Hope this helps! UPDATE 02/12/2016: ***********Important Note about Potential Dangers of Overfilling!*********** The other night I refilled this when I awoke feeling a bit dry and dusty - we've been running it on "Continuous" as we moved to a drier climate - and inadvertently I overfilled the unit. I didn't know this until the next morning when I saw the unit was on, but not spewing vapor. I touched it and it was quite hot! I took off the lid and it was still full - overfull - of water. Apparently overfilling causes the unit to be unable to expel the vapor bursts. Somehow the unit didn't break, but I still won't know if I caused it undue stress which may have reduced its lifespan. Also, I am super-glad I didn't start an electrical fire or something. So, please be very, very careful and DO NOT overfill your diffuser as it could possibly break your diffuser, or be dangerous! Hope this helps and best of luck, everyone! UPDATE: 05/23/2016: I wanted to update to mention that despite the above evening where I accidentally slightly overfilled and the unit was trying to be on all night, but unable to release vapor - getting super hot - I have had no issues with the unit. It still works as well as ever and I do recommend it. But again, be careful not to overfill, as that could be potentially dangerous. Hope this helps! UPDATE: 05/04/2017: So, the ol' girl finally went to diffuser heaven. I used her daily and will always wonder if that night where she "ran" all night with too much water was the start of her demise, but she lasted about a year and a half exactly. While I strongly considered buying another identical unit, I admit I was lured to try something totally different when I saw the pretty glass diffusers on the market. I bought Radha Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser 200 ml - Wood And Glass Ultrasonic Cool Mist Aroma Humidifier with changing Colored LED Lights , which has a lot of pros and cons. I will review it when I have had it a little while longer, to be thorough, but I already know that while I like the new one I think I will get another one of these NOW Bamboo units when the new one "dies". I just prefer it for all the reasons listed above. Hope this helps and enjoy your aromatherapy - however you choose to do it! :-)

Have had mine since 12/2016 and it’s still going GREAT!!!
I have had this innocuous little diffuser since December 2016. It is quite simply awesome. As advertised, it can run 8 hours continuous mist or up to 14 on intermittent. It is easy to use IF YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS,,,!!, like: 1) Don’t overfill above the Max Fill line because it (like most other diffusers) can’t mist when overfilled, 2) Learn the simple use of the buttons to get the mist setting you want - press on for continuous mist, press same button again for intermittent; another button allows you to set it to run for one of several specific time options like 1 hour, 2hour etc; light control is like many -press light button and light comes on, cycles through nice array of colors and by pressing the light button again you can set it to one you like; press 3rd time to shut lights off. It is whisper quiet. It works nicely - gives good coverage - in our rather small bedroom. I chose this one because it is what several shops I frequent (and trust) had running day in/day out as their store model and it was impressive. Very simple and unobtrusive looking in bamboo which is fine … it has a small footprint so it’s easy to tuck out of prominent site. I did buy a similar one that is much larger to use in larger room; interestingly, that one blasts more mist and does work well enough but need refill much more often. . I have gifted 3 of these to friends/fam and they are going strong. Other reviewers having issues make me have to question whether they are actually using this correctly. I am super careful when cleaning it to change scent oils: I have found that the simple single use alcohol wipes I buy (from Costco) to clean my glasses are perfect because they are lint free and the alcohol removes scent oil residue and dissipates quickly. Highly recommend this one: it’s longevity speaks its own truth

More than I expected.
I ordered this bamboo diffuser and I also ordered the faux wood grain diffuser from NOW foods because it had a larger reservoir and I liked the shape better. But the faux wood was just too cheap looking, so I returned that one and kept this. I am not really even a bamboo fan, but because it isn't plastic, I don't mind leaving it out in the open. It is simple to fill and wipe out but I am most impressed with the functions. It has continuous or intermittent settings. I use continuous at night and intermittent during the day. It automatically turns off when it is out of water. It has a 1 hr or 2 hr timer, which I admit, I don't really use because I just run it until it is out. I also like the light function. I have used diffusers where you have to have a light on, and I don't like that when we are trying to sleep. My youngest son likes to have a night light though, so when I run it in his room, we can run the light. One click and it goes through all the colors, another click and it stays on whatever color it currently is displaying, or third click and the light is out. Super handy. Also, the light only shows around the ring at the top, so it isn't very intrusive, just subtle. Overall I have been extremely happy with my purchase. I got more than I expected. It has a small reservoir, but I fill it up before bed and set it to continuous and it is still running the next morning.

So far, so good! Nice Little Diffuser for the Price!
This is a nice little diffuser especially for the price. It is easy to fill and looks like it will be easy to clean, unlike the other Now Foods diffuser I had previously. You need very little water (max fill is 150mL) and if you use the intermittent setting, it will go for a long time. I bought one to put in our living room and ended up purchasing another a couple of days later so I could put on in my bedroom for diffusing a sleep essential oil blend. Then I bought a third for my son's room to replace his old diffuser that was impossible to clean. He runs his on constant and it lasts the night (about 8 hours) and then has auto shut-off. Running on intermittent you can fill much less often. The only thing I'm not crazy about is how the AC adaptor plugs into the bottom of the unit and then has to clip underneath a little plastic channel....it's just a hassle if you have to unplug it to take it over to the faucet to fill. So I use a small measuring cup to fill it in place, and that's fine. I think the light feature is neat, but the first night I used it, I woke up and found that sometime in the night, I had turned it off -- so it must be too bright! (at least, to have right by your bed, which is where mine is). I hope this one lasts as long as the other Now diffuser it replaced. I will also be interested to see if the bamboo stands up well to the constant exposure to moisture from the diffuser. Update: I still love this diffuser, so much so that I have purchased two more -- one for my daughter's bedroom, and one for my office. Still the best I've found at this price point. I recently looked again at my local store where they stock about 10 different diffusers, with a display so you can really see your options, and this one still beats all others in terms of price and features. I have a friend who sells YL oils and she keeps trying to get me to purchase one of their diffusers but at literally DOUBLE the price I just don't see how it can be THAT much better than this one! Highly recommend.

Dias de vapor agradável.
É a segunda vez que compro esse difusor. Entre todos que testei ele é o melhor. A opção de deixar intermitente faz com que sua casa fique agradável por dias! Recomendo.
