I discovered this little secret a number of years ago when looking for a vacuum head that would do two (2) functions; sweep as well as vacuum. This device does both perfectly. My pool originally was a conventional plaster pool but was redone apx 11 years ago using a fiberglass process. Today, it looks ALMOST as good as when it was new. As with ALL pools, the surface coating will wear off and expose the surface under the final coat. In other words, the gel coat finish has now deteriorated a bit and requires a good vacuum as well as a light ‘sweep’. The MTVH does both nicely. The advantage of the MTVH is the PLACEMENT of the under-side brushes that allow you to accomplish both the SWEEPING action to loosen dirt, algae, etc. as well as the VACUUMING. The brushes MUST be placed where they are so the sweeping action guarantees that ALL of the debris will be sucked up into the filter. If the BRUSHES were located on the perimeter, for example, they would not work as well because some of the debris would escape outside of the head’s containment (vacuum) area. I also read some posts where it gets STUCK to the bottom. The ONLY way that this happens is when the BRUSHES wear out, are missing or have been removed. If you look carefully at their placement, the complete vacuum head FLOATS on the brushes and that guarantees that the head is ½” above the pool surface. If the brushes wear out, the head WILL collapse and get "stuck" to the floor. And when that happens, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FREE THE HEAD unless you shut off the pool-pump. Ask me how I know! The new one I received is a bit larger than the older model; new one measures 11.5 inches wide where the older measures a little over 10 inches. Nice that it’s larger. Anyway, it’s a great invention and wouldn’t be without one. Review: Very good product for the price, would buy again - This vacuum head seemed to work very well. Weighted head stayed on the bottom easily. I made my own handle from a hardwood broom stick, which will not sink if the handle slips out of my hand. It just stays upright. With my setup, I just took my time and moved around slowly and it was able to pick up everything I ran across. The translucent cover is nicer than a solid color, but I have a blue vinyl liner, so it isn't easy to see some things as they are sucked up, but anything darker can be seen pretty good. My pool is a 15x25 oval with a little over 12,000 gallons per the manual and it took me around 30 minutes to really do a good job, as this was the first real vacuum after opening the pool for the season. I would buy this again. Oh, one reviewer said that the swivel part for the hose attachment will not work with 1 1/2" hose, but mine works just fine. It actually swivels directly at the head and the hose just butts right up to it, but it works good.

No moving parts!
I got tired of pool vacuum heads with wheels. Manufacturers, these things are going to be in water. Use stainless steel nuts and bolts, not metal that rusts. The last wheeled head I had required so much pressure to use that it bowed so badly that it only slurped up a 3" swath. It was time for a change. Enter the Milliard See-Thru Vacuum Head. No nuts, no bolts, no wheels. It works well, has brushes to help remove debris and it's weighted to help it sink. It lost one star because I'm only able to pull the head toward me at the deep end of the pool. It doesn't offer the leverage to push the head out into the pool. On the other hand I could only push the wheeled unit out and didn't have the leverage to keep it on the bottom to put it to the edge of the pool. It's well made and should last a long time with no wheels and no metal to rust.

Very good vacuum head
Just what I needed for cleaning the pool. This has helped so much when I have cleaned. I'll definitely order again when this one breaks.

This is better for smaller pools
We have a large pool and our shark cleaner finally swam its last swim in our pool. We were selling the house and did not want to invest in another expensive unit, so we researched and found this product. The product didn't fail, it just was not powerful enough to clean our large pool, but we are confident that it would work for smaller pools and Jacuzzis. The price was equivalent to the use of the product. Reviews are for improvement not for dismantling, with that said, I believe that this is a good product would do well in smaller pools.

Efficient
Not only do we have steps, but also seats and a beach entry. This tool works perfectly on the corners and different levels. It's easy to attach to your vacum hose and work with standard hosing and handles. It's easy to lift up to levels where we only have a few inches of water at the entry. The brushes help with the dirt/sand and it fits almost flat on the floor surface not a big open space between the suction and the step. Its great at getting to the bottom of the hot tub into the corners. I've had neighbors borrow it to try out and have since purchased. A nice addition to the pool.

Works great!
I'm glad I bought this one - I looked at a lot of the reviews before choosing this vacuum head. I owned one that's similar in shape and style, but it started getting stuck to the bottom of the AG pool. My pool guy said that the brushes were probably too old and that the suction was getting too close to the bottom. So, I bought this one. The first time I used it, I was afraid it would get stuck, so I used it on half power, and it was just OK - had to go over some areas several times. The second time I used it, it was with full suction, and it was great! It was at the end of the season, and had A LOT of debris on the bottom of the pool, and it sucked up everything, stayed on the bottom, etc. I've used it a total of 3 times, so I'll have to see next year if it lasts, I will update if I have any issues.

Works well, lasted 3 seasons
I liked how it got into corners. After the 3rd season, the bristles got brittle and all broke off as soon as I touched them. It was stored in a bin out of the weather.
