Good functionality; construction a little light duty
Everything about this helmet functioned just fine. Fit was good for me. Construction is a little light duty. Certainly good enough for occasional use. If you wore one a lot, you might want something a little sturdier.

Decent product
It is good for a budget helmet. I feel it is worth the money...especially if you need to loan a helmet to a buddy, worried about rough field use, need a second for a bystander. Lets you keep the Speed Glass at home, or in your own hands.

Best Welding Helmet For The Money!
Excellent alternative to the Lincoln Viking 1840 welding helmets! I bought two of these to replacement two Lincoln 1840's which one failed due to the batteries and since the welding lens are sealed and non-user serviceable your screwed! I failed at opening the lens for battery replacement even though some have been successful at getting it open! A replacement lens is only $20 cheaper than a brand new helmet so I trashed the helmet and started looking for a helmet that allowed replacement of the lens batteries which lead me to this helmet. We have been putting the two Antra helmets through their paces and were extremely happy with them. They feel similar to the Lincoln 1840's with the only negative being the viewing area for the Antra helmets is slightly smaller. One of the major positives is the cheater/magnifier lens holder excepts the Lincoln Viking lens perfectly and on top of that the positioning of that lens from your eyes is much better than it is in the Lincoln helmets. For the money, you get one nice helmet with features as good or better than the Lincoln Viking 1840 welding helmets and it comes with quite a few spare protective lens (inner/outer) which is a bonus! For welding outside, its not any better or any worse than the Lincoln's we had. Personally, we don't even bother with auto-darkening helmets outside due to the constant sensitivity adjustments that are required. A good old Jackson HSL2 works perfectly outside (same helmet I used all those years ago in welding school before auto-darkening helmets became affordable). At a price point around $50, you'd literally have to be insane to pass up this welding helmet!

often all weekend when restoring mopar automobiles and this helmet is comfortable and reliable
This welding helmet has held up very well and I do tend to be somewhat hard on my equipment . Now this is by no means a PRODUCTION helmet , although it could serve well as a daily backup . The point being , the shell is not rugged enough in my opinion for that type of use . The other point being , for this price you cannot go wrong for a home shop welding helmet .I've owned plenty of helmets and weld at least twice a week , often all weekend when restoring mopar automobiles and this helmet is comfortable and reliable . It has three sensors that perform perfectly and delay and sensitivity is adjustable at the viewing element . Two steps of 9 shade levels plus grind mode has you covered easily , more than enough . Viewing area is more than adequate and lens cover is durable and easy to replace . Visibility is excellent and auto shading reacts perfectly as adjusted .This helmet easily competes ( and wins in my opinion) against pro name 100 to 200 dollar helmets ...except for The shell which is merely to thin and flexible for daily " production" work . However it does not crack or come out of raise / lower adjustment at all ... Just a bit thin that's it .Overall this is the best value in a helmet I have ever come across by a long shot .

Good deal! despite SelfTest not working
I delayed this review til after I tried the helmet several times. Being winter in Chicago area, a warm day (ha! about 40 degrees works for me. You will also want to preheat your metals with a propane torch) is needed as the instrux say 23 degrees is the minimum temp for this helmet's autodarkening to work. The only complaint I have is the SelfTest battery LED function does NOT WORK at all. So to test battery, I glance up at the sun, and if it darkens when set to 11 (welding mild steel) , the battery is still good. When I first took it out of the box, it had been Set to 9 or 10 Darkness. Be aware that Grind is really the OFF setting. So, thinking the included battery was dead, the first thing I did was buy a new battery. I probably didnt need to. Neither new battery lit up the SelfTest function but autodarkening works perfectly. Bu the way, it is a single CR2450 coin cell battery. All in all, I am satisfied with this purchase. I have used it about 8 times, 1 to 2 hours each time. I set it to Grind on breaks and when its stored.

As advertised
Works with my mig welder. Solar panel helps keep batteries charged if left in the sun for a few hours, or batteries 2 button cell are replaceable.
