Etymotic Foam Eartips, Black - 10 Pack - Standard Fit

The original foam eartips that came with my IEMs were great. Why they then sell you something different is beyond me. They truly suck. They aren't made of memory foam, they don't compress, don't fit well, and hurt my ears. I wish I had returned these within the return window as they are so bad, it makes me not want to practice with these IEMs. I recently discovered that Comply makes replacement ear tips that fit the Etymotic IEMs. I use the Comply tips with my AirPods and they're fantastic, so I'm giving them a go. Total waste of money.

These work well with my etymotic music pro elite.

I hate to pile on, but these new ones are a disappointment. Yes the material is better, however, even though I am able to get a super deep insertion, they don’t block out nearly as much noise and they sound a bit worse than the old ones. The old ones have to be replaced all the time because the foam was so porous, but for some reason, they sounded incredible and blocked out a phenomenal amount of noise These new ones are worse than a lot of the competitors. Oh and yes, they are uncomfortable as well.

This product has changed. The foam they are using is not what is shown in the image and does not match the previous Etymotic foam eartip material. The previous foam could be compressed into a narrow shape that would very slowly expand in your ear, giving you time to insert it and create an appropriate seal. This new foam cannot be compressed. You have no time to insert it into your ear, because it regains its shape instantly. Instead you have to attempt to jam a fully expanded foam eartip into your ear. This new material hurt my ear canal terribly after I finally got it in, due to friction and pressure. Not fit for purpose, a complete dud. Make these like you used to, please!

The foam ear tips allow the Etymotic products to excel in there responsiveness, producing extraordinary detail oriented music reproduction.

Much more comfortable than the original ones that come with the earplugs.

As everyone else is saying. The new material these are selling as is a much worse experience. Material expands too quick to properly insert into your ears and provide sufficient protection for things like the gun sport adaptive hearing protection companies like Etymotic and OTTO offer. And once in it takes only a matter of minutes to cause pain in the ears. I work on a factory floor and use the hearing protection 8 hours a day for nearly 5 years now. I am returning these and looking for other options.

These are really good It seems as though I’m going against some of the other reviewers here, but I do like the change in material These feel a little more like the foam used in westone tips now They do ‘spring’ back to size, but they fit really well (I’m using them on my Shure SE 215’s) I’ve not done a gig in them yet, but will do very soon (hence the purchase) I’m hoping they last longer than the older style ones that would perish quite quickly (maybe that’s why they changed them.. 🤔) Anyways, so far so good 👍⭐️ Sorry the other users didn’t like them so much…

Olvidate, no las compres, no son iguales a las que traen los propios auriculares de Etymotic. Las que traen los auriculares son de espuma, las comprimes y te las metes en la oreja. Estas no son de espuma sino de goma dura, las comprimes y recuperan su forma inmediatamente y es imposible que te de tiempo a metértelas, e incluso aunque vayas muy rápido solo conseguiras meterte la punta, se expandirá y te dolerá mucho la oreja inmediatamente, y además sonará fatal. Estas almohadillas, no es que sean peores que las originales, sino que es que son totalmente inútiles. No es que funcionen mal, es que no funicionan y no valen para nada. He contactado con Etymotic y me dicen que ya no tienen las originales y en el futuro quieren volver a sacar un modelo parecido. Conocen le problema y las siguen vendiendo. Por cierto, la foto que tienen puesta es de las originales, pero luego te mandan las otras que son basura.

Etymotic are now using new foam which is more firm, it expands much quicker and is a quite uncomfortable in comparison to the older foam they used prior. I ended up selling my ER4-SR.
