Good value so far.
I wanted an economical turntable so my wife and I could listen to a collection of old albums we have. So far this turntable has been excellent. We cannot believe how good it works and sounds.

Set-up and Sound
I loved setting this up. It’s my first. I enjoyed feeling like I was part of why it sounds so good :). It looks better than I expected too. I needed one with a dust cover since I have cats and this cover has a brown tint that matches the rest of it nicely. For now I use a converter to play thru a Samsung soundbar.

Works Well
Was looking to replace my 40 year old direct drive Pioneer turntable that finally gave up the ghost to a tune of $500 to repair. And current models are not a bit automatic as much as my old TT. Not with out similar major bucks. So I settled on this Denon DP-29F. Belt drive is stable and true. Full size platter. Normal phono output, or amplified. But two things I did not think I'd like were the fixed cartridge or the light weight platter. Now the cartridge and its installed stylus seem to play very nicely. There is no apparent way to change the cartridge to a more high end model. So I am resigned to this. The platter is very light weight, so running my disk washer brush seems to make it lean a lot. How long till it bends permanently to ne side? I'll find out eventually.Otherwise, it runs well and sounds terrific.

Pass on it
I’m surprised this is still biased as a 5star product. Read the recent reviews, clearly not a good turntable. Overpriced and cheaply made. Instructions were difficult to understand. They show a cord that’s not there. They also provide an extra plastic part that is nowhere to be found in the manual. The cover over the cartridge was so tight it pulled the cartridge off when I removed.Once I finally had it all hooked up, I tried running it and alas, no sound. Double checked all the cords, double checked the cartridge. All the settings were correct. I made sure my amp and speakers were working. But the turntable wasn’t.As others have said, don’t let the retro minimal look of this fool you into thinking it’s quality. It’s cheaply made and a pain in the butt to get going.

Kind of worked then didn’t
It was fine for a while, but it often skips and then scratched a few records. Very disappointed in build quality too. Spend a little more and get more for your money.
