HIKERS - Original Hidden Suspenders for Men Under Clothes - Button Fly

With the weight gained from working at home in this post-COVID world that we live in, I lost my natural waistline and my hips no longer keep my pants from falling down. I was looking for traditional suspenders (which I'd planned on wearing under my shirt) when I found these, which are designed expressly for that purpose. I'm wearing them today for the first time. Measure accurately per the instructions and you should get a good fit (men should be familiar with the "measure twice, cut once" logic of making sure the measurement is correct before proceeding). I secured the back hook on the center belt loop on the back of my jeans, pulled up my pants, felt behind me for the front tab (made sure it was not twisted), pulled it over my head, secured on the button of my jeans and the mission was accomplished. I've seen at least one review regarding the perceived problem with the suspenders stretching or a lack of durability in the elastic. The product has to stretch to do its job. And I appreciate the extra holes that adjust the back clip. Women who wear bras (should) know that you always start with the loosest setting and tighten up as the elasticity starts to fail. Men should be made aware of that concept. I've also seen reviews from men who complain about having to deal with removing the contraption when faced with having to tend to certain bathroom necessities ("#2"). As a woman who is faced with having to pull down her pants for every bathroom visit, I'm not seeing a reason for any drama. Unhook the front tab from the button, pull down pants (which causes the front tab to ride up to rest at your throat), reach behind to pull the suspenders clear of the line of fire, do your business, pull up your pants, pull down the tab, button everything up and be done with it. That explanation is far more complex that the actual deed. As far as construction goes, I can see where the front tab that loops onto the button may be the first thing to fail. And when I sit and the elastic relaxes, the "Y" where the elastic shoulder bands meet the front tab rides up and feels scratchy against my skin (when I stand up, this same "Y" rests against the front of my bra so I don't feel it then). The suspenders would be more comfortable when sandwiched between an undershirt and the regular shirt. YMMV Otherwise, the wide elastic bands are comfortable and the product does exactly what I need it to do: Keep my pants up.

Suspenders. Yikes! I feel rediculous even saying it, but the status quo was unacceptable. I have a round figure and everytime I get up I had to pull my pants up. When I would life something or carry something, I ran the risk of my pants falling unless I was careful about how I moved. You get used to it. You learn to be careful. I didn't even realize how much of my mental focus went into that until i started wearing Hikers. The benefits were immediate and extraordinary, even though I ordered one that was too large for me because I just assume I should get large versions of everything and didn't bother measuring. So these are not as perfect as they could be, but they are still a massive improvement. You know those reactions men have on hair-growth commercials about how they feel younger and more confident, etc.? That's how I feel while wearing these. I used to be very careful about how I got out of my car, what I was carrying, how fast I would sit down or get up. I would even time getting up from a meeting so that others were not looking at me. Since I wear my shirt tucked out, pulling my pants up means exposing my stomach. No one wants to see that, but it's better than the alternative. Now, that's no longer an issue. So not only am I more comfortable and confident, I'm much more mobile. Which makes sense -- these things were made so that men can work and be active, right? Well, I definitely feel more active. I get out of my chair and go. I walk more briskly. I can carry more stuff in each trip when carrying things between rooms. They do have some side effects that take a couple days to get use do, but those go away. There was a constant pressure on my shoulders the first couple days which, while not always noticeable, did seem to leave me more fatigued -- like if you wear uncomfortable shoes or something. But I think it also develops some muscles in that area because now I barely notice at all. Going to the bathroom was a bit of a trick, but I've figured it out now. (For me, the trick was to manipulate the belt loop around the hook while holding the hook steady, instead of the other way around.) The Hikers seemed pricey to me when I bought them. Now, they seem like an incredible value. I should have done this years ago. They might even be useful if you're trying to lose weight, as they allow you to more active and not be so cautious about limiting your mobility. Huge difference. Buy these. If you have even the slightest inkling you might benefit from these, it's probably more true than you realize. But measure them first, as the site recommends. If you don't have a clothing-style measuring tape thingie, you can find one for $4-$6 here on Amazon, and if you're a big guy, really you should have one of these tapes and watch a youtube video about how to take measurements because most of the clothing sold everywhere isn't made for us and costs more -- so it's not good to just guess.

Bought this about three months ago to relieve the pain around my waist caused by wearing a steel stud framers tool belt that after 40 years in construction, mixed with double curve scoliosis ("S" shaped spine) has caused years of pain at my waist. This has done wonders to relieve the pain, and I'm grateful, but there could be some small improvements. First, you get three holes in the rear strap that fits thru the buckle adjuster. I assume the middle hole is figured for the measurement you have taken during the order process, that way you get one other hole for lower riding jeans/pants and the other hole for higher riding jeans/pants. Using the middle hole in the strap works well, but with a little hiccup. While using the suspenders, the rear buckle stays buckled in the hole that is chosen, but the slack from the remaining strap slowly gathers at the buckle, as if it's trying to remove itself from the buckle all together. I have used large and small paper clips to try and prevent the short remaining strap from moving towards the buckle and causing the strap to gather a large loop on the buckle at your back. It's much worse if you choose the third hole on the strap because it leaves three inches of strap to float and irritate your lower back, hence trying to keep it taught with paper clips. I think the maker needs to fashion some kind of clip, like a tie clip off you will, to keep the remaining flopping strap together where it won't move or gather. See pics

Pricey, but I just bought my second one so that I have one while the other one is in the wash. Wear it everyday. The nuts! One connection in the front, and one in the back. Quick to connect and disconnect, though there is a trick to the back that I had to figure out. Put two fingers into the belt loop so it's taut, push the hook forward, and then pull the hook sideways. If you just pull on the hook, you'll be pulling on it all day. That it doesn't want to come loose easily is a feature not a bug. This does tend to head towards your neck, so it can show up around the neck of your t-shirt, but that's not really an issue. An issue is when one of the straps on your Perry suspenders slips out over your shoulder and is heading down your upper arm so that you have to fix it. These show up like crazy under a white t-shirt, and they're ridiculously obvious under a white wifebeater t-shirt, so you might want to think about that. Beats the hell out of wearing a belt in the summertime when shirts are worn outside the pants. Imagine a pretty woman wearing her man's Hiker's suspenders as her only upper garment? An ad campaign like that would own the suspender market for Hiker's. There would be Hiker's, and everything else. Bottom line, I can work with Hiker's, yeah, they were hard to figure out that back hook at first, but tension it with two fingers, push forward, and slide it off, and it comes off with full control every time. Great product, and it commands the price that it commands because it has earned it via brilliant design, and quality manufacturing. Good stuff well worth owning.

As I've gotten older, I've found myself constantly hitching up my pants. I've tried a lot of different belts and other solutions, which have been temporary at best. I've been reluctant to buy suspenders because I'm old, but I'm not that old. When I saw these, I thought they were definitely worth a try to deal with an annoying problem. They serve their purpose well. I spent the evening doing a lot of moving around and carrying things, which would normally cause my jeans to start to slip, but they stayed in place perfectly. I was very pleased by that part. The size runs true to the chart they provide, so definitely take a measurement before ordering. Now, the downsides. I don't find them particularly comfortable. Your mileage may vary on that, as I just don't like anything that feels restrictive. I may get used to it. They are also not exactly "hidden." If you're a big guy, they will definitely print and be visible under your shirt if you're wearing something like a T-shirt or polo, especially in the back. The straps also ride up my shoulders and end up visible through the neck of the shirt. I do think that they're a little pricey for what they are, and I have questions about the durability of the strap that hooks on to the button of the pants. It doesn't look super strong, and it's not reinforced in any way. They're easy to get in and out of, and they do exactly what they're supposed to do. You will sacrifice a bit of comfort and appearance for it, though. Depends on how much that means to you. I will definitely use them while working in the yard or something like that. Not sure that I will wear them all the time, though.

Spend some time to get the correct size. 5'11" (180cm) 195lbs 88K modestly long torso an narrow waist a bit of a belly went with size large. They are adjustable but take the time to measure. Have trouble with my belted trousers sliding down. Got sick of having to hike them up all the time, letting ride low was not a good look. Takes some mental training to get good at taking them off for a full sit-down potty run but it's well worth it. Had them for about 7 months and the elastics are holding up to just about everyday use. Remember you can't tuck in your outer shirt with these on. I also would not recommend wearing them directly against your skin like in the photo. Much more comfortable over a tee shirt. Got these in June easily held up my lederhose (lederhosen is the plural) and a heavy I-phone without stretching out. Washed cold water works great.

Seems like they improved them. They don’t look like they will break as easily and are a comfortable fit. Be sure to measure to be sure you’re getting the right size and you will be golden.

I have had these suspenders for just over two years now. I wear them most days during cold weather and often during the summer when I am hiking (yes!) or doing yardwork (yawn). I have found them to be easy on my clothing (compared to the old clip-style suspenders), comfortable, and durable. I often have pockets full of a super-sized iPhone, keys, folding knives, and the like that used to drag my pants down off my hips. In hot, humid North Carolina summers, even cinching my belt more tightly than any saddle horse has ever been subjected to was only a short-term--like five minutes or less--solution. I used to have to stop many times a mile while to pull my shorts up, again, and tighten my belt, again, which probably looked a little pervy to folks walking down the greenway or the hiking trail. Enter these Hikers suspenders. Cue miraculous sounding music. Now my pants stay up no matter what I'm hauling in my pockets and I can skip the belt altogether, which keeps my waistband dryer than it would otherwise be. I can hike as long as I like without stopping to hitch my britches up. I even wear them to the indoor rock climbing gym when I'm doing as much contorting as my old man flexiblity allows. I can poke around under the sink all day long without subjecting bystanders to plumbers' cleavage. Since I wear them next to my skin, they do get sweaty so I put them in the washing machine with the manmade fabrics (no fabric softener!) and they come out good as new. Given how much I wear them, I feel like they are wearing fine. I almost balked at the price, but I'm glad I ponied up. I have tried other suspenders in the past, but never found them useful enough to bother with. My only very slight gripe is that mine are black and so are visible beneath thin, light-colored T-shirts. If they make them in a lighter gray, I'll go that way when I replace these.

I am 32 years old with very bad sciatica. After years of wearing a tight belt (aggitating my sciatica) I decided to give suspenders a try, and it was the best decision I could have made. These fit great, are very soft, and are unnoticeable under my shirts. My pants have never fit so great. I highly reccomend giving these a try. My only complaint would be that they took quite a while to ship, but once shipped they arrived within a few days.
