This book is so cute! The paintings are adorable. If you have someone in your life who loves owls, this is the perfect gift.

Absolutely adorable - loved it from cover to cover! This book was fabulous! Matt Sewell goes through all of the owl breeds scattered throughout the world and provides little snippets into their species. His off-the-cuff humor was perfect for this quirky book. So many books about owls end up being chock-full of facts that (while interesting) tend to be a bit dry. Thankfully, this was never the case in Sewell's book. Each owl described was accompanied by a simplistically beautiful and vibrant watercolor - the way he captured the personality of these birds in just a few strokes of his brush was truly magnificent. I loved how he talked about the common myths accompanied with owl breeds - it really made the book fun and exciting! Definitely a fabulous book to pick up for the owl lover in your life!

Charming illustrations and packed with interesting facts about owls

I bought the book for the artistry of Matt Sewell more than the descriptions of the Owls. I have Sewell Garden Birds and Atlas of Birds also.

Got this book for my 10 year old brother who loves owls, he loves it!

Gorgeous paintings, only not 5 stars because I didnt realize this was a personal view of owls, I was expecting a more fact/science-based appreciation blurb about them (and some of them are that). I like how some ancient beliefs of owls were mentioned, too.

Our little one loves owls. This book has great beautiful art of each owl with facts on each page. The book is well worth the cost. We have even ordered other books by this same writter/artist and have been happy with each one.

While the dimensions fall a little short, this reads like a great coffee table book to be perused from time to time. The watercolour pictures that accompany each owl are well executed, and, at the price point, bat far above the average. My kid LOVES owls and insists on reading this daily.

This is an enchanting little pocket book of all the owls you are ever likely to see. Each owl has a very short factual, often humorous, description, and each is illustrated by a whole-page watercolour. I'm not an expert to say how accurate these are, but I'm sure they are good enough to identify the bird. It is excellent value for money and would make a delightful 'thank you' present for anyone interested in birds, particularly owls of course, or just to cheer someone up.
