This controller didn't work for my application. however, once the seller found out that I had a problem, they contacted me several times trying to help solve the problem. I'm giving them 5 stars for their great customer service.

Total garbage. It arrived brand new, unopened, zero damage. Looked to be in perfect condition.But it simply DID NOT WORK. NOTHING. Nada.Reading the reviews it seems to be a common issue with this and several other speed controllers. This was the second controller I ordered (2 diff brands) and NEITHER worked.

Worked great on the Fantastic Fan for speed control and to reduce amp draw compared to the original three speed resistor. Wired it up so a push button toggle switch cuts power to the circuit, and the original forward/reverse switch still controls direction. No audible noise from controller, and a nice drop in amp draw. Circuit board was a little big for the space, but mounted it at an angle and shaved a little material off the heat sink to make it work.

This PWM controller works great. I used it to control the speed of the blower motor for a Saab 93 that had a burned out control module that is no longer available. And it works amazingly well. And the fan at full speed draws 19 amps...so it is pretty robust. One area that could be improved is the length of the ribbon cable that connects the speed control knob to the unit. It is only about 5" long. And you tend to buy this one with the detached knob so you could locate the knob away for the controller. So it would be nice if the ribbon cable was longer.

When this controller switches on a LED goes on. This controller is great for my mini carnival ride display.

First, it's a great little PWM (I use it with a 12V supply) . Saves me having to make my own.Works fine, clear polarity markings at the hookup terminals.My biggest complaint: Because the Board contains SMDs and other static sensitive devices, it should be sent in a ESD safe package, whether the Ziploc type ESD bag or the little ESD foam box. These would be dark grey in color. If it's clear (or pink) plastic bag or packing, it's not ESD safe packaging.This is the responsibility of the manufacturer. Proper ESD packaging ensures that the components on the board are not subject to random static discharges which can internally damage any ESD sensitive components (damage that is not externally visible) , and there are at least 2 of these components on this particular board. And that means the life span of the ESD components on the board are [potentially] shortened, though it's impossible to say by how much.It is for this reason I give the controller 3 stars. Had it been properly packaged I would have given it 5 stars. Would I buy it again? Yes. But I might buy 2, just in case one goes south sooner rather than later.
