Read other reviews... order size smaller...has an odor...
Read the other reviews before you purchase. I ordered these a 1/2 size smaller which was in the description as well as the other reviews. This is great advice. I normally wear a 10.5 in most cases and a 10 with these. There is also an odor as the other reviews state. I believe the odor is from the faux or synthetic leather. The smell is isn't overwhelming and can't really be detected unless you are in a meeting and sitting right next to someone. I've only owned the boots a week or so and the smell has gone down some. I've heard that mink oil helps with this so I am ordering some and will update my review once I try this. Mink oil will also change the appearance/ color a bit but I am not worried about that. The boots are very close to the color in the photo. The boot is comfortable not bad for $35 purchase. I will most likely get some better insoles though. I have an office job and do not stand a lot - so I can not speak in regards to comfort from that aspect. Overall it seems like a good purchase but the boots are cheap quality but what I expected at the price point. I plan on purchasing a higher quality one in the future but wanted to try these to see if I like the style. So far, so good. I will update review as more info is available.

They're pretty but not much cushioning on the bottom
The good: They look great, they're cheap, and they fit pretty well. I usually wear 11 or sometimes 10.5. I got the 10.5 in these and they fit surprisingly well. I have somewhat narrow feet and high arches. The artificial leather is fairly soft for new boots. The lacking: The description talked a lot about comfort, but it seemed like there was more thought in the description than went into actually making it comfortable. What's there is a foam pad about 1mm thick on top of a platform that's as hard as wood. I was able to fit a thin gel insole (envelop brand) into them, which I can't always do on account of my high arches. That made them probably pretty comfortable for most people, but I have major foot pain issues, and need superior cushioning. It was not enough for me. Also I got stabbed by something sharp at the top of the zipper. It could probably be fixed easily enough by squeezing something with a needle-nose pliers, but I already decided I'm sending them back, so not going to bother with repairs/mods.btw, It is really hard to find shoes like this that have actually good cushioning in the soles. I don't understand why. I've spent way too many hours looking. If I find one, I might edit this to let you know.

About what you would expect for the price. But not bad.
24May2021.... I consider myself a boot guy, prior service military, 15 years on a fire department and wear boots on my days off. But now a days I work a desk job and not very physical at that either. I got these boots because I liked the appearance and the idea of a zipper. They arrived in February of this year. Yes, there is a pungent oder when you first get them, which is easily remedied by allowing them to sit outside for about a day to let the sun do its thing and its fine.Within a month, the finish cracked across the toe, not the end of the world. This last week or two has been rough on them, though my usage has not changed. Around the office, putzing around the house amd may going for a simple walk around the place to take care of the chickens. If things continue to progress, the soles will be off in the next month. But you will notice I only gave them a three star review. Primarily because they are kind of what I expected for the price and they are comfier than I was expecting. You won’t be booting in doors or climbing mountain like you would with Matterhorns, Meindls, Lowas or Crispis with these but on the other hand, they don’t make my feet sweat, are light and easy to kick off.The one design flaw i would like to point their attention to is this; the top lace hooks are to close to each other and I can snug the laces down like I like. The hooks need to be moved back closer to the ankle bone so as-to get a better purchase for support when tightening down the laces. All in all; I’m not going to throw them away yet. I’m going to get some shoe glue and see if I can extend the life of these bad boys.Go Big Red!

Not super high quality, but good for the price.
I bought a pair of these shoes a while back, and I find them quite nice. They look very good and stylish(though I really don't like the zipper on the side -- I hate zippers on shoes). They fit well and are quite comfortable. They did smell a bit straight out of the box, but it went away after a few days. I will say this; the shoelaces are not very durable. After a couple of weeks tying them, the metal bits at the top of the shoe stripped of the outside layer, causing them to break soon after. But, that's an easy fix. Overall, I think it's a good shoe for the price -- not super high quality and durable, but good enough.

Beautiful boot that won't last...
Love these boots, love the style but they don't last. They will start disconnecting at the sole within 9 months of use and eventually get water damaged and be useless because they smell like wet cow skin before the 12 month mark. I bought them multiple times and it happens with every pair. After about 4 pairs in different colors, I have learned and am pretty tired of this routine. If you like these, you ahould buy them, just know they won't last. If you are ok with that, great. If you are looking for a product that lasts, don't buy these.

Broke quickly
A lot of people said these were fragile. But, for the price, I was willing to try them out. I was going to Europe for an artist residency for one month and was hoping they'd last at least that long. They lasted about 3 weeks of heavy use, rocky hiking, trekking beaches, forests, fields, and cities before I had to throw them away in an Icelandic lava field 4 weeks into my trip. They got me in trouble once as I stood on top of a waterfall and my boyfriend panicked as I edged precariously close to the edge of a cliff wearing such horribly broken shoes. Hahaha but i loved the way they looked and if I ever need a temporary pair of cute boots, I'd buy these again. But I'd never expect these to last half as long as they should.
