I bought this for my son and he likes it.

I want to point out that refractometer readings with alcohol present in the liquid need a conversion. I've seen a few reviews specifically related to homebrewing and how refractometer is inaccurately high. I suspect that the reviewer did not now this. With the conversion, I have found this Refractometer to be reasonably accurate. Do note that that conversion is based on the O.G. (so knowing how much alcohol is present).

Water content is critical in storing honey and this tool gives the assurance you need to safely jar honey.

Must calibrate before use. Good quality for hobby reefers. Highly recommend.

I was a bit skeptical when I ordered this refractometer due to its low price, but it’s very nice. It’s important to avoid harvesting honey from uncapped cells if the moisture content is higher than 18% or 19%. This will tell you exactly how high the moisture content is and avoid fermented honey. It includes the solution needed to calibrate it. If you’re a serious beekeeper you need to have this on hand for honey harvest time!

The instructions were missing. Was not easy to get a clear ready. Was easy to store and clean.

This item seems to be of good quality but we'll never know for sure. There was not one word of English in any of the accompanying literature. Everything including the instructions was in what I assume to be Chinese. It's going back.

Great instrument, but lost a star for the totally useless instructions which bare no resemblance to the actual refractometer. I have added my own version here to share the ONLY way of calibrating this model, which incidentally is a solid,beautifully made piece of kit.
