Recently my cardiologist expressed concern about edema in my ankles and lower legs. My foot doctor noticed the same thing and recommended support socks. At first I wore the far less expensive nylon socks but I started buying Marino socks in the fall. I have pretty much tried every brand out there and all are pretty much OK. But when I tried on my first pair of sockwell socks I knew that I had a winner. These are just great socks. They fit well and they are warm.

I have many pairs of Sockwell mens OTC socks. All L/XL and fit fine (Equiv M11). The Ascend feels like it's a size or two BIGGER than that (M13-14). I love the STYLE but can't really wear them. I think I purchased at a time when the sizing info was changing, so maybe that was it?

I tried them out, and I really like the material. It's a very tight weave that looks like it should hold up very well, with a fantastic cushion bottom. In fact, I would say it has one of the best sock cushions I've seen!However, for me, the fatal flaw was that they were too short, so they would not stay up for the length of a day, and that's a deal breaker for me for compression socks. Because when a compression sock slips down to your ankles, you end up with crushed ankles and lose the benefit of the socks.

Pricey but well made compression socks. All day comfort and although not fully recommended, acceptable to place in dryer due to cotton component unlike cheaper fully synthetic compression socks.

These socks are very well made and do provide graduated compression as advertised. Even after several wash cycles they hold their shape and performance. Comfortable to wear all day, hands down the best compression socks I have ever tried and I have tried quite a few. I have several pairs now and they are all I wear.
