Going camping in black bear territory, I wanted something to put dog food and treats in that would keep the scent from attracting bears (dog treats are quite smelly - and the bears like that smell). I decided to try these bags. Wonderful! I put the bag of marrow bone treats in the bag and sealed it - no smell. But you don't realize just how well it works until you open the bag - Whew! The smell is so intense. Seal the bag back up - and nothing, no smell again. If you have anything that is really smelly and you want to keep the smell from permeating everything else, these are the solution. They really really do what they say they do. One note of caution: when you open the bag, be prepared for that intense smell - it will be at least 3 times more instense than the smell normally is.

Works good. Ziplock is a little awkward.

I accidentally ordered these huge bags, but they worked well for our backpacking trip. We had no issues with insects, or creatures large or small. Sealed well and were durable enough that I will be able to reuse them several times. Easily fit 3.5 days worth of food for two adults and a child, with tons of room to spare. This size stuffed full would take up most of my backpack (50L), so be aware of that.I'll definitely order smaller next time, but these would be appropriate for car camping or for much larger packs.

Going camping in the Big Horn Mts in a few weeks. These came highly recommended. I hipe they do their job.

even though we were armed with knives and a gun, with all the bear reports on the appalachian trail and stretches of the trail for miles that didn't allow camping at any of those sites, made me nervous since i have a lot of food on me.... well, I'm still alive... i sometimes passed out before i could hang the bag in a tree so i can easily say, this bag saved my life!!!! :P

We bough these to keep our food ( and eventually trash) in, while backpacking in Alaska. I bought an assortment of bags, and these were the most expensive but performed the worst. After the 2nd or 3rd time closing and reopening, the plastic part on top of the zipper seal rips off, leaving you with only the zipper part. I eventually damaged the zippers themselves. You have to tear at the zipper part becuase the lip you are supposed to grab always rips off after a few times opening and closing. As far as being smell proof, these are excellent. I believe that if your application requires a single time closing and re-opening, and your #1 concern is a smell barrier - this is what you want. If you are looking to reuse these bags a few times, get the cheaper kind.

Not much more durable than a ziplock type bag. Yes, thicker and more protective against odors but not really going to last more than one or two trips.

Great product. Received as promised. The bags are huge, perfect for storing food or other personal items that you want to keep dry and prevent "smells" from attracting wildlife.
