Not as good as the older model
So I have an older PLS 180 redline and it’s worked flawlessly for the last 10-12 years and survived some 8-10ft drops. In my eyes it was hands down the best laser on the market, it’s super compact and throws the line behind the device super far. Now that I’m getting older I wanted to upgrade to the green because it’s much easier to see. First impressions it’s packaged very well and it’s much larger then my previous model, I’m not sure if that’s because green is brighter and they have to increase its size to accommodate its brighter light. Upon using it the older model was a smooth plastic and this one has a type of rubber case which makes it slightly more annoying trying to snap lines on the floor. The rubber kinda grips it and when you are trying to make micro adjustments it moves back to the same position. Don’t get me wrong it’s still pretty easy I’m just being super critical. Now here’s the part that really let me down. I’m an electrician and I use this laser to set rack heights so I use the magnetic bracket to fasten the laser to metal studs a lot. On metal studs it barely holds the laser up, it’s really super sketchy. It holds great on heavy gauge studs and thicker metals though. It’s so bad that I ended up buying a 20x3mm magnet and installed it to the bracket. The rubber was fairly easy to cut and scoop out and it’s made a huge difference where I don’t have to worry about it sliding or falling off.

not as accurate as I'd hoped
I checked it against a PLS laser and it differed by a sixteenth inch in eight feet, perpendicular. I sent it back and got another PLS.

Friends who are tile setters swear by this brand of laser.
Green is more precise and easier to see indoors. Have not used it outdoors. Simple controls. Easy to set up on tripod.

does what it says
outdoors it works well. insight it is awesome. green might be a little brighter than red. the reader is definitely worth the extra $ when you can't see it. I feel like for the price, the accuracy should be a little more precise at 30'. Ive owned and used several different lasers. this one is pretty good

Quality is starting to slide
Within The first week, the vertical laser quit working. It took a month to get a new one through their warranty department (and we had to take care of shipping). We used to use these all the time for work. We have found more and more issues with their quality over the last few years. We now are using Dewalt and Bosch. Their lasers seem to be more reliable. I really like the size of the PLS, but the quality has forced us to look in other directions.

Great throw distance, nice and bright.
This PLS laser nice and bright. Throws a horizontal line and/or a vertical line.

Great Tool
You just can't go wrong with PLS... the only thing to remember is to carry plenty of batteries as this unit is pretty powerful and will drain most batteries quickly. Bright enough to use indoors and outdoors, bright enough to fight some 40K lumen projectors we were lining up and calibrating with this laser.
