Still the quality I found in the late 1960s. Made in the USA in NV. As claimed, writes in any position and on poor-quality paper. Ink is bold and lasts for years with occasional use. The small size when closed, all-metal, smooth surface pen rides comfortably in a front pocket. You get the value you pay for.

I've had this pen for years and decided to get a refill for it. Forgot what a great pen this is. It is an original Fisher refill so the writing quality is excellent. Fast shipping and good packaging. Would highly recommend.

It works

I like bold tipped pens. The cartridge that comes with the zebra f701 sucks! I needed something better. Tried the easyflow 9000 which I actually really like and use in other pens, but that was a no go. I just couldn't get it to work. Ruined the top end of the refill trying to make it work. Decided to just go ahead and buy the bold fisher pen refill and I'm glad I did. Not only does it write better than the stock zebra refill, but the click is much more satisfying..if that matters to you..but let's be honest here..it matters!! I wouldn't say it's the best writing refill out there, but it's definitely much better than what the zebra f701 comes with and it can write anywhere anytime! Great for my edc zebra f701! I highly recommend it! I should've just got this one to being with. Would've saved me time and irritation trying to get it to work! If you're getting it to replace the original one in the zebra f701 like I did..just make sure to remove the plastic insert that is in the tip of the pen where the tip of the pen comes out of. Cut off just a little piece of the plastic insert to widen it for the tip of the Fisher refill. Put it back in and you're good to go! Oh and you don't need the plastic white adapter that comes with the fisher refill. Just disregard that thing. Good luck and enjoy your fisher refill. I definitely am!

Very pleased with this bold Fisher Space Pen refill. Prefer bold ink over fine or medium.

I like the bold-point refills much better than the stock refills. The bold-point refills write on nearly everything. For example, I'll use masking tape to label homemade dehydrated food pouches. The bold-point easily writes on masking tape, whereas the stock cartridge does not, lots of skipping. So when I buy a new X-Mark space pen (sometimes I do lose them), I'll replace the stock cartridge with the bold-point. I always have one with me or in my pack. I do a lot of writing and note-taking, so the refills last me, maybe 5 or 6 months, before I need to replace them.

Fit perfectly in a newer "all metal" Zebra F701. If using this for that purpose, you will discard the plastic piece that comes with this item. I didn't have to modify anything - just swapped the spring over. No binding, no removal of any pieces inside the pen, no spring trimming, no issues at all.

I received this October 6 '25, and it lasted without worry until ~July 6 '26 of light to moderate use almost every weekday since I got it. It will smudge if touched too quickly. I might try a finer tip next time. Not sure if I'd have lost the same amount of money in cheaper everyday pens since then, but it was nice to experience it. Pairing it with a SmootherPro pen showed me how much I appreciate my pens not bending as I write compared to a normal Bic, and not having a wiggly tip like some fancy-looking bulk marketing pens from vendors or distributors that get their brand stamped on them for promotional distribution.

These refills are great. I may be a bit snobbish in that I like to know I'm writing with a pen that can write upside down and in water. However, I got to say the ink is a nice blue I like. Would I buy this again? Definitely, and I've bought another 3 refills as they do not cost much.
