After you open wait a day or two before making a judgement.
When I first opened the jar I was not impressed. They felt soggy and very salty. I bought the jar so I out it in the fridge a few days later they were so much better. I am not sure if it was from being in the fridge or opening the jar. They are more firm now and not os salty.

I am told they are delicious. I buy for someone who loves them
But these for someone who says they are great. They did not arrive leaking. I think they are expensive for what they are but if they are the kind of thing you like apparently they are top notch

Nasty
I have read reviews online that these were close to the old Penrose Pickled Sausage. I was so excited and bought a jar. They are no where near Penrose. They were absolutely nasty. Arrived at my home without a seal on the jar, wrapped in plastic. Juice was all over the plastic jar. They looked so nasty in the fats they were floating in. I still gave them a try. The sausage tasted like nothing I have ever had in my mouth. Greasy, not enough vinegar, and just terrible. Almost a rotten taste. Damn near made me throw up. I poured this crap out in the field and basically threw 14 bucks away. I would no way buy these! Worst tasting things ever! I don’t know why Amazon would even sell this product, as it could make people sick being unsealed. Sad.

Overwhelmingly okay
First thing I would like to note for anyone curious, the jars don't have a freshness seal by default (I contacted the company to make sure that was the case). This is just for anyone else who was curious like myself. As for the sausages themselves: They're not the best red hots I've had, but far from the wurst. The brine is pleasant, being sharply sour with lingering sweetness and bite of saltiness and a lingering warmth of spice in the back. The sausages taste a little on the not grand side, being a little mealy, but they've grown on me a bit. They're great on a slice of homemade bread as a snack. For the price they're at, I think they're worth it. Give it a shot if you're curious.
