Easy to install, sturdy, plenty of storage room, biggest problem was finding rafter/stud centers
I really like all the extra storage this 4' x 8' overhead storage provides. The materials are very sturdy, the powder coatings are all well done, no sharp or jagged edges anywhere. The installation instructions were clear, with one minor annoyance regarding which way the mounting bars should be situated when screwing into the ceiling rafters. Early in the instructions, they show mounting with the large oval holes up, then later in the instructions it looks like the oval holes should have been on the side. I mounted with the large oval holes up, thinking that would make it easier to get stud center on both sides. This restricted me when mounting the vertical bars, which need to be perfectly straight down, since I could only move from one hole to another, not slide within a hole. It didn't cause a problem though, all the vertical bars look straight. All in all, I really like this product and recommend it to others. BTW - The biggest problem I had when installing was trying to locate stud centers. My stud finder didn't leave me confident that it was finding stud center and I wanted to be absolutely sure I got that right, I didn't want this thing falling on my car later. I then stumbled on a YouTube video that showed the guy using the stud finder to get close, then poking a nail through repeatedly to find the two sides of a stud. I balked at this at first, not wanting to poke holes in my garage ceiling, but then realized, who cares about a few tiny holes, the important thing is to get the lag bolts installed into the stud center. I then used the smallest drill bit I had and a drill to do the same thing as with a nail. I would use the stud finder to mark what I thought was both sides of a stud, then drill through the drywall and poke with the drill bit. It I hit wood, I would move a little further out and repeat. Once I had both edges identified, I then knew for sure where stud center was located. The stud finder itself was good at finding a stud, but terrible at locating the two sides. Once I adopted this process, things went very quickly. Of course, I wouldn't want to do this inside my house, but for the garage, this process worked great.

Good quality and built to last!
I bought mine in 2022 and itโs still holding up. Itโs strong and very durable and I love it. We have a two car garage and not very much storage space so these were extremely helpful to have. Installation was fabulous and the tech was super nice. I donโt remember the guyโs face, but I remember he was all about customer service. Iโm so happy I went with this company.

These racks are everything!!
Bought two of the 8x4 overhead racks to mount over the garage door to gain some much needed storage. These racks are amazing! The build quality is top-notch and they are very sturdy. It took me about 3 hours to install the first one and 2 hours or so for the second one. The instructions are some of the best I have seen and were easy to follow and left no questions. I installed them by myself with no problems. Just take your time, measure and plan carefully and follow the instructions and you will have no difficulty. I suspect anyone who had any trouble installing these did not read the instructions. Also, if installing over a garage door like I did, make sure to check for proper clearance for the door; not just when it's open, but while in operation as well, as it requires additional clearance when making the initial turn. I ended up putting ours about 4' back from the front wall to allow for this and everything worked out perfectly. I could not be happier with this purchase. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for and I don't I could have built anything like this myself for less (nor would I have wanted to try.) Great product and company. I highly recommend these to anyone who needs overhead storage.

Best ceiling storage
So I finally got around to installing this and wow! It was easier than I thought it would be as I was able to install it by myself in about 2 hours. What made it so easy was the ability to install the supports directly on the back wall of my garage. This is much easier than intalling the ceiling supports. The instructions on this are not the clearest but I made my way through and it worked beautifully. Once completed, it is rock solid. The grates were slightly bent but still very usable and I blame that on FedEx as the box was beat to he!! when it arrived, so much so that the nuts and bolts broke out of the bag and were all over in the box. Fortunately none were lost in transit. I liked this so much that I just bought the 3' x 8' version to install along the side wall for additional storage. When you install this, just make sure everything is left loose until all parts are installed, then tighten everything. This allows for some adjustment in positioning.

Instructions suck!
I was replacing a 4' x 4' storage rack with this 8' x 4' storage rack and the design of the other one was better. A few things to note about this rack. 1. It's insanely heavy. I wish I had weighed it, but didn't think about it until now. It comes in two boxes and they are both very heavy. I'm going to guess at least 50lbs. You might equate this to strength, but don't forget, your ceiling has to support the weight of the load AND the rack. Not sure how much roof trusses can support, but a buddy of mine told me he has a pick-up truck in his attic, so I guess it's a lot. Just make sure you hit the studs! 2. The height of the bottom rails is about 2.5" and the shelf on which the items go, is on top of that. This is pretty tall. I bring this up because I was going to make the rack a little lower so I would have more space on top to store things, but when I did this, the bottom of the rack was too low, meaning that it was near a shelf and I would not have been able to get the things off of that shelf as the rack was too low, despite the items on this rack actually being 2.5" higher. I guess this is necessary to get the stiffness to handle all of the weight. Just thought I would mention the rack sticks down 2.5" below the load level. 3. The instructions are at the same time, overly complicated and ridiculously short. In addition to being confusing, the images are just flat out wrong! It's really silly considering how simple it really is. As an example, the image shows two beams bolting together and they are notched to fit. But the drawing shows the metal bent opposite of reality relative to the notch leading me to turn the parts around and around playing some bizarre tetris style game to get them to line up until finally figuring that it was just drawn wrong. I had the same problem with the way the corners meet. They draw something that simply cannot exist. They don't appear to be Chinese instructions, as I'm sure we have all seen, but functionally, they might as well be. Just be prepared to double the time required so you can disassemble what you have done a couple of times. 4. I borrowed a neighbor's cordless impact driver to install these. I highly recommend this unless you have forearms like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Anyway, this tool was pretty strong and as a result it actually broke one of the bolts used to assemble the bottom frame. There were no spares. So don't drop any into the dark recesses of your garage. You'll be one shy. Strangely there seem to be plenty of extra fasteners of a different size you probably won't use, especially washers. This leads me to believe the instructions were once again wrong, indicating that two washers should have been used EVERYWHERE, not just on the vertical supports. In one case, it shows installing a sort of safety bolt, just to make sure that the slip on bottom rails can't slip off. However, the head of the bolt you are suppose to use is smaller than the hole, so it doesn't really fasten anything. You might be thinking, use some of those extra washers. Nope, the bolt passes all of the way through those too. Really, just look over every single thing carefully before putting it together. It will save you time.

Quite good!
Give yourself 3-6 hours to install this one. Having a friend would make this much easier. Take your time orienting the pieces and it will save you a lot of time. It took me 4 hours by myself. I did mess up a few times and had to reposition the rack by 1 inch away from the chain that drives the garage door. I also messed up when mounting the vertical extension a few times. All in all this can be done by yourself in about 3 hours if you do not mess anything up. Instructions are accurate and can be trusted when installing, do reference them for measurements! I already ordered a second one for the right side. This is a great storage kit that comes with everything you need, just make sure you do your measurements correctly, although it does come with very short vertical brackets, I think it will fit any garage. I did a few pull ups once it was installed and that thing seemed solid so I did not hesitate to start throwing some of my less used items up there and its been 100% solid ever sense. If you are on the fence, don't be - this is a good product at a great price!

Best Overhead Storage!
These are the best overhead garage racks that we've found and purchased. They are very heavy duty. My husband was actually able to it up by himself. He did want me to remind anyone purchasing the product that you must mount this product into the ceiling studs, not just the drywall. We had a tiny delivery issue, but one I contacted the seller, they fixed it right away and the rest of the order was delivered in just a few days. their customer service was very very good and honestly the delivery issue was just a tiny oops, so we don't hold that against the company in any way. we will definitely look to this company for future purchases.
