Great reference manual. If you are interested in the Navy during WW2 especially uniforms then this is one of the books for you. Plenty of photos and references to original manuals really help to bring together the myriad pieces of clothing and equipment worn by the US Navy during World War 2.

Excellent reference book.As a living history person I have found it invaluable to my research.

I purchased this book to help me on the development of my "impression" of a WW2 Seaman. Overall, the book was very helpful and has helped me on verifying the accuracy of purchases of equipment and uniforms for my impression and display. I felt that the book did not cover the total array of US Navy uniforms, mainly in that they did not cover anything on the "Dungaree" version of the working uniform ( a chambray shirt and blue jeans), and also did not cover footwear very well. In combination with another book in this series, "US Navy Uniforms in World War II. Weapons, Equipment and Insignia: Submarine Service, PT Boats, Coast Guard, and Other Sea Services." this was a useful collection of books for working on my impression.
