Sony LCSELC7/B Genuine Leather Custom Fit Case for NEX-7 Camera and Lens - Black

Best real leather case for the Sony NEX 7 on the market today. Two or three times the price of some of the leather cases coming out of China today but construction, metal snaps, padding, attention to detail make this a superior case worth the money, particularly if you are trying to protect not only the camera a larger more expensive lens.

Title really says it all. It is designed for the kit lens. I'll use it for the camera with an adapted Leica M lens, but it's useless for the longer walkarounds most people choose for the NEX-7.

This case fits the NEX-7 perfectly with the kit lens attached. It also fits with the Carl Zeiss 24mm f1.8 Sonnar E-mount lens on. The lens hoods have to be taken off the lenses or mounted in reverse to be able to fit.The case is made of real leather and has a nice feel to it. The camera is attached to the Half Case via the tripod mount, protecting the bottom and sides from scratches at all times.How does it protect the camera? It certainly protects the camera well against day-to-day bumps.Some reviewers at other sites have commented that this case can block the rear LCD from being pulled out. This is partially true -- yes, the LCD cannot be pulled out easily. Perhaps that's a plus: it'll help prevent accidental dislodging of the LCD. The way to pull the LCD out while attached to the case, start by pulling on the bottom of the LCD, not the top.The case allows for quick shooting without taking the camera out: simply unclip one of the buttons located at the bottom right of the body, flip the top portion of the case over and under the camera, and you are ready to photograph. I preferred keeping the camera with just the half case on -- it looked quite professional that way.The reason for why I knocked 1 star off is the price. It is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced at the $150 I purchased it for (directly from Amazon.)The similar (but aesthetically less premium) MegaGear Ever Ready case looks even worse. Stay away from that one. Even though this is for an NEX 7, it fits the NEX f3 perfectly except for the strap atatch points. No big deal. It is so much higher quality than the cheap fake leather cases. This is made of several layers of leather with some kind of metal layer to keep its shape.

This leather case is really tailored for the NEX-7. I purchased this case because of the form fitting shape that would be great for the prime lens 18-55mm, it offers great protection and it will also allow the lens hood to be on the lens in the reverse position. There is also a handy storage place for your extra memory card. If you can justify the price it will be a good purchase the case is well made quality wise.The price is a little high but it is a keeper.

Great Case

I like its protection and how quick you can take a photo without dealing with a bag option. Price at $200 makes an already expensive camera go through the roof.
