Works but needed a 10k resistor
I needed to interface a 5V I2C MCU with the ESP32 so I needed se level shifting. These got the job done but I found somewhere on the Internet that they needed a 10k (or maybe a 4.7k but used 10k anyway) to be soldered between the outmost pins to work so I did that. All in all they do what they say. Only used one so far but its been a while and never had issues with lvl shifting in this project so I d say its a good buy.

Works as intended
Works perfectly!

The first device did not work, but the second one works.
Update: A second and third device worked without problem.Despite adding a pull up resistor to OE and capacitors to VA and VB there is no output. A simpler 4 channel converter worked first time.

For logic signals only
I tried to use these to drive opto-isolators from an ESP32, but they do not have enough drive current for that application - my fault. Otherwise, very easy to use and would work fine for (say) an SD card reader

Very reliable!
I use this converter over 3 years and bought a few more not long ago. Very reliable! Never had a problem.

Nope!
These level shifters may be cost effective, but they do not actually work. Wanted simple communication between 3.3v and 5v. Had some professionals look over my wiring, because it was not working at all. They verified and we tried all 3 units. None of them were able to shift logic successfully. Not impressed.

Not quite perfect
I wanted to convert 5v logic to CMOS and this promises to provide a better solution than simply using a potential divider network. The datasheet for the chips warns that connections should be kept short but the use of this breakout board on a breadboard is contrary to this warning. The bidirectional logic doesn't require a separate input to switch directions. To support this the logic uses a novel approach to enabling an output when it could be an input. Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I used the converter with 5v logic that produced pulses at 20kHz - 120kHz and notices that the output was often two or three times higher. This upset the edge detection within my processor. It can easily be seen on an oscilloscope as ringing on the output - as the output moves up and down processor sees more than one upward transition. Using a simple divider network of two resistors instead produced a perfect result. The suggested circuit uses an additional resistor that isn't supplied. It could easily be included on the circuit board. The description implies that pull up resistors are used on inputs but reading the manufacturer's data sheet there are specific instructions to not rely on this and that operation will be unstable. The suggested circuit doesn't use two decoupling capacitors. These could easily have been included on the circuit board. The manufacturer's data sheet again provides specific instruction to use them where the description only suggests their use.

Didnt work for WLED
I bought these to be used in a WLED setup to shift the level to 5v for the data lines. After trying 3 opf them and double checking my wiring i have concluded they just don't work for WLED. A quick test with a multimeter does show that 5v signals are being output so i have no reason to believe they are faulty, juts not right for what i needed.

Funktionieren

4 out of 5 DoA (dead on arrival)
Very disappointed that 4 out of 5 was dead on arrival. The one that works as expected runs great though.

Funziona benissimo.
