Q: How bright is the 9 watts and 13 watts compare to a regular bulb?

you won't believe the brightness of these bulbs. I bought the lamp for a reading light. Looks like the sun is in my living room. Even the smaller of the two bulbs is more than enough for reading

Q: If I wanted to replace the plastic globes, what size globes should I get?

I have two other lamp poles similar to this and neither of the globes from them would fit. I think the best thing for you is to contact the seller and find out. I did not recommend this product.

Q: Can i use incandescent bulbs with this lamp as leds are hard for me to read by. is the switch a rheostat?

The bulbs included are great, bright but not glary, very adjustable and I read a lot. Turn on by turning a little know. I liked the lamp so much I got another one for the other side of the same room. No problem putting it together, well made and good instructions. I am 85 years old, piece of cake.
