1st Choice 6 feet Gold Plated S-Video Cable

It is a S-Video Cable. It works 100%. What more can I ask for?

I needed this to replace an older S-Video cord that no longer worked. This works great. It does what it should and it seems to be a thicker, more high quality cord than it's counter parts and the same price point. I've been using it for a day now to connect my laptop to my TV when I watch movies or shows online. It is to be noted if you are buying this cord for the same purpose you should by an Audio Y media splitter with 1 mini plug and 2 RCA cables (red and white) to transfer audio to an external device. It's a great investment. I have no problems with this cord and recommend it to anyone who needs one.

Gold plating is nice, but really isn't as necessary as you might think. It is there as an anti-corrosive measure to make sure your outputs don't rust or corrode beyond use. However, for the price you pay on these cables, they are actually good quality. I had to splice one of these cables and found the shielding to be adequate. It isn't the best by any means but they do actually shield the Y and C lines separately and adequately. The only downside I can say is they do not have individual ground shielding, but this is minor at best and is not something you'll notice unless you're interested in high-production value (who uses S-video for Hi-Def anyway?) and even then the ground does not need as much shielding as the Y/C inputs, which do have individual shielding.

Garbage, did not work. Cannot be returned. Does not appear to be gold plated as the description indicates, there is a legal disclaimer stating it is silver plated. Who knows, who cares? Look elsewhere even if it costs a little more.

I needed the video cable to complete copying some old video tapes to a newer format. I was all eager to get started and finish the project however I waited and waited for the cable to-arrive. It took almost two weeks for arrival and I fine that unacceptable. I frankly think it was the packing and post office. If you need an expensive cable and are will to abide some time until it arrives then this cable is just fine. If you need it in the next few days I would not count on it arriving very quickly It works fine for the purpose for which I needed it. Mailing items in small bags seems to either irritate the Post Office people as most seem to take an extra ordinary amount of time to arrive.

I was going through some of my old electronics and found a VCR to DVD recorder that "WORKS". Now we have all the things that copy and record, but this is an old Zenith and it works!!!The downside!! I only have "ONE" S-Video cable, I needed two. What really makes me happy is that my Sharp 55" TV actually has an S-Video input, go figure!! (old TV but works like a charm). So I can actually use the recorder!! The next necessary connection would be the S-Video to HDMI!Thanks again Amazon, and your vendors.
