Assembled in under 2 hours
Okay, I bought this desk after reading all the reviews about how difficult and confusing it is to put together, here to tell our story. My husband and I both have our bachelors degree, and we are in a good stable marriage of over 5 years. We have two young kids and one on the way. I went into this warning him that this may take a while, and we should start after our kids go to bed. By 8pm he had everything unpacked and was starting the first step. We easily saw all the labeling, and the directions were very specific. You just have to pay attention to the pictures. We were done by 10pm. Highly recommend 2 screwdrivers (one of ours ratcheted which he LOVED).Fast forward 3 weeks, we love the desk so much we bought another one. This time we put it together while our kids were awake. We set a stopwatch and completed the whole build in 1:46. This is a very reasonable desk to put together, and for something from Amazon, we believe it is decently high quality. Love all the little accent pieces and how sturdy it is. The drawers didn't align as expected, but for the cost, this was a great (double) purchase for us.

Very Nice Looking Desk
This looks very nice in the room. I don't believe that it will hold up to multiple moves but not any worse than other particle board constructed furniture. The assembly was very straight forward and was pretty well laid out in the instructions. There are also QR codes to YouTube videos that are hosted on their site (sauder.com). The complaint here is that the QR code takes you to a site that is not https so it is flagged as unsafe, this should be easy to resolve by Sauder and absolutely should be fixed. The fitment of the hardware and the materials was on target with only a couple of areas that could have been just a bit better for tolerances or alignment. One issue was that part 'Y' (one of the legs) in step 3 didn't have a decal and I didn't see it in the box indicating that it wasn't there to start with. Some of the part numbers are stamped and others have stickers. In this case the other legs all had stickers and 'Y' was not marked with either method. Process of elimination allowed me to find it but had another not been marked it would have taken some research into the parts pre drilled holes to determine this part. Step 10 has you install part 'Z' which shows the finish surface on one side but the end has a finished and unfinished surface. I took the time to ensure that it was oriented finished end toward the front but it appeared it may screw in either way. Also incorrect orientation would likely end up with the drawer rail being incorrectly aligned. Step 19 has 4 sub steps and in sub step 1 there is a not telling you which hardware and the number used (very nice addition throughout) but I took a double take. It indicated 10 used in this step, meaning in step 19 not the sub step, which only uses 5. Not a big deal but could easily be improved by stating 10 used in step 19 to be much more clear. None of these missing instruction improvements would prevent a person who is paying attention from assembly it would just make it that much clearer. The drawer slides have a slot for the front screw allowing for slight vertical adjustment to square the drawers up after installation and I find that to be a nice touch. If you have ever put together this style of furniture without that you are limited in aligning the drawers to one another or with the frame of the desk. A nice touch is the recess in the desktop that supports their Qi charger (Item 425905) over the drawer section so you could just set your wireless charge capable device over the target sticker (that comes with item 425905) to charge. I was unaware of this in their listing on Amazon as it didn't mention it and should be added (it is mentioned in the listing on the Sauder website). There are book shelves, dressers, a lateral file, and even an armoire available that are in the Carson Forge style for complimentary looking furniture. Overall a great product and assembly experience.

Step-By
This is a functional piece of furniture and fairly nice looking. Sauder gives much better directions than does IKEA and other brands in this category. It is very important that you do things in the exact order given, it is not easy to fix mistakes. I did make a few mistakes, but I am happy with the overall look of completed product.

Good product for the price.
It took me over 2 years to find a desk that I liked enough to buy that wasn't outrageously expensive for a home office desk in a small space. The directions were very straightforward and easy to understand. Especially, it was a great idea to put in the size of the screws that went into each component in the diagrams. All the pieces fit together quite well. I am happy with my purchase.

Nice
This is a really pretty desk. That’s really well-made and it looks like it’s super high-quality. Like it doesn’t look like a particleboard paper coating desk. It’s really pretty very solid.

Nice piece of furniture
I got this to replace the desk that I was using in my home office. It is perfect for my needs. Nice sturdy piece but LOTS of pieces to put together. Nothing fancy but a great size for my work area that is set up in one of our spare rooms.

Cheap pressed board, it is not wood! Assembly is 26 pages with about 3 steps and diagram per page.
Cheap!!! Pressed board, it is NOT WOOD! This very heavy box contains everything needed to completely assemble the desk, including glue for holes to put dowels into! That being said… there is about 100 parts/pieces to put this desk together and at least that many pieces of hardware to assemble it!!

Caution: plastic component is fragile.
It's a very nice desk and for the most part easy to assemble, but time consuming. However, when assembling be careful with small plastic pieces that attach the back to the sides of the 2 drawers on the right. They arrive stuck together. One of mine snapped as I separated them. Sauder is sending a replacement part. Should arrive in a few days. So customer service is good. Just a bit frustrating to be so close to finishing and having to wait for a replacement part.
