My Go To Notebook
Being a nursing student, I am in frequent need of jotting down random notes during classes and clinical. I jot down vital signs, the room number I need to attend to, an important fact my professor states during a skill demonstration, or even just for doodling. Ever since I found out this little gem two years ago, I've been using these ever since. I've had a two black ones and a red one, and all of them trustworthy. My favorite inky pilot G2 pen rarely bleeds through the page and is only faintly visible on the other side, but it does not impair your reading at all. It does not smudge as long as you let the ink dry for a few seconds. The back pocket in the moleskin is very handy for little cheat sheets (not for tests, mind you, but for skills during clinical) and even fits 3x5 notecards.Other Pros:-The bookmark is very handy for automatically flipping to an open page, or bookmarking an important one.-The elastic band keeps the book closed rather than flapping with the breeze.-Sturdy covers-The size is perfect for large pockets and doesn't take up much room at all.I've read several complaints about the pages of an unruled version being too transcluscent, but as I have never had an unruled version before, I can't say on that matter. But I've never had any issues with the ruled versions.Expecting this notebook to be used for artwork is rather ridiculous as these notebooks are only meant for you to jot down quick thoughts, quick sketches, or formulate ideas. If you also use an especially inky fountain pen, it WILL bleed through.I have attached two pictures, one showing that the G2 pilot ink does not smudge very much if you let dry, and only faintly shows through (yes, I know my handwriting is atrocious, but that's only when I'm note-taking for myself). The second is to show the back pocket with the notes I keep on me.I have tried using other little notebooks before, but for the price and quality, Moleskin is definitely the best choice.

Moleskine makes another excellent product
I have been searching for the perfect daily planner, one that is a little smaller than most, but I can still put in a ton of information. This planner does it all!If you're familiar with Moleskine, it has the same inner pocket and stretch cord closure, as well as the woven bookmark that's sewn into the binding and the wonderful leather-like feel of the cover. The color is very vibrant, just the right shade of bold red. This planner not only has your daily, weekly/monthly, and monthly/yearly calendars, but also a measures and conversions chart, traveling distances chart (worldwide), travel diary, time zone map, international holidays chart, international clothing size conversion chart, and a page with a ruler printed! I don't think I could design a better planner, I feel that this one fits so well. The ONLY downside I can see is that even though it has a 2008 and 2009 monthly and yearly calendar view, the daily planner only goes up through December 31, 2008. That just means as soon as they start releasing the 2009 versions, I'll have to be quick and order one so that I'm ready for the new year and any of the appointments that may come with it.Overall, I give it five stars because it does everything I could hope for in a classic pen-and-paper planner, and it looks stylish and chic while doing it. I love the feel and look of it so much, I make sure to "have a reason" to bring it out in front of everyone!

Classy Little Ruled Notebook
Is it weird to be in love with a notebook? Because I love, love, love the small pocket notebooks from Moleskine.Red is my favorite color, so I'm particularly obsessed with the red versions of the ruled pocket notebooks--however, they're kind of hard to find (several of my local shops carry the plain version, but since I use mine to jot down ideas for my writing--I am a non-fiction writer--I need the ruled paper), so I was thrilled to discover that Amazon carries the ruled version in the color I want. I highly recommend this size for your purse or bag, since it doesn't have much weight--the larger sizes are actually far nicer to write in, but aren't as portable, since the hard covers are weighty in the larger sizes. The paper's good quality and I haven't had any bleeding through on my pages. This notebook looks very classy when I pull it out when talking to people for articles, etc, and I get loads of compliments on it. Well worth the money. The only thing I'd change is the chemical composition of the covers--I understand that there's some PVC content (hence the CA warning in the product description), and I'd prefer Moleskine went in a PVC-free direction. (So if anyone knows of hard notebook that's PVC-free with equal quality ruled paper and nice colors, let me know!)

Fine traditional product
I use the moleskine journals daily and record my weight and diet as well as travel and unusual experiences. I get about a year out of each one and have been doing so since about 2002. The little books hold up well and fit in your pocket. I think it allows me to take notes with a little panache. I alternate colors with each volume, some years red, some black or brown. But it's with me each day. Well made, sturdy enough to last the year or more. Document your life in style.

Moleskine 2008 18-Month Planner
I own several quality moleskine products. My favorites are the pocket-sized lined notebooks. The 2008-2009 18-Month day planner is another example of the highest quality materials put out by Moleskine. Though it covers 18 months, it is still small enough to fit in a pocket. The planner contains loads of additional useful travel information much like the travel guides from Moleskine. It's also got the Moleskine pocket in the back cover and several stickers to highlight important events. In the modern electronic age, I still find this product more useful than a PDA and will purchase one for 2010!
