Easy Gasket and Gunk Removal
I just replace the head gasket on my 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5L. I saw video where Ford Tech Makuloco recommended the 125 grit disc for Al heads. He was right, as it works well but you have to be careful to not have too much speed or move too slowly. Much as this was also reinforced the reviews on Amazon. Overall it's a decent product and makes quick work of removing gasket material. I will continue to use it, although I would recommend it more on steel than aluminum, unless I found a finer grit disc.

Great for cylinder heads and gasket surfaces!
Was watching a YouTube video of a guy using this brush to clean cylinder heads and engine block surfaces, so I bought it as I was in the middle of a similar project. I just finished doing a top end job on my Ford 302 and it cleaned up all the gasket mating surfaces with ease, speed, and didn't ruin the material of the cast iron heads and block. After cleaning every mating surface with it, it has held up really well with plenty of life left. As you can see in the picture, the right half is not brushed and the left half is brushed. Quite the difference with very little effort.

Works amazing with CRC gasket remover doesn't harm the plastic bristles!!
This little brush works awesome! I start off with CRC gasket remover sitting for 15 mins, followed by a gasket scraper, and finish off with the roloc pad and wow! Had to take pictures of my project. I'm doing original head gaskets on a 1997 suburban 350 small block, and I need something that I could use with the engine in the vehicle. Scotch Brite pads are great IF the engine is fully disassembled on the stand. Many shops don't allow the use of scotch Brite pads due to aluminum oxide destroying engine bearings, and other critical tolerance parts. I ordered this and yes it takes more time and I'm using a cordless power drill BUT the CRC gasket remover spray can be used in conjunction with this directly! This speeds up the process of the gasket removal by 10X compared to using the roloc alone. I haven't tried carburetor cleaner with it yet, but the gasket remover spray works fine with it (just costs more than good ole' carb cleaner). Gonna buy more to prevent washed out bearings, aluminum oxide pads are thing of the past. Just be careful installing onto mandrel as it is 100% plastic, and a little hard to screw on.

works great but you only get one
These work great but the listing is worded that you think you'll get 2 but its only one, its size "2"Ive used these to clean up old gasket material on a iron block, aluminum heads, valve covers, etc. Wont remove too much material like a regular rolac disk but you still have to be careful and not stay in one spot or it could remove some material. After cleaning up the surfaces on 1 engine you'll probably want to replace it

Cleans aluminum head deposits - like gasket stains, etc., without damaging the head.

great for stripping gaskets, etc
I use this color to strip old gaskets from flanges or blocks and heads. These leave small scratches in aluminum, so I make a couple passes with emory cloth and the surface is good to go. Make sure you clean/rinse what you are working on because this will leave powder of itself when used.

Perfect for finishing a live-edge table.
I bought a live-edge slap of maple to use as a coffee table. The edge had some great character including bumps and waves. I needed to clean this up without destroying it and this Roloc Disc was perfect. It removed the surface very evenly without taking off the high points only. A very handy tool if you need to clean up textured or sculpted surfaces.
