The Hutch Company Cat Kennels (Tan, Self Heating Microchip XL)

What a great product. The cat kennel came fully assembled apart from the 4 legs which can be easily attached with the provided screws.Firstly this is a very sturdy construction with plenty of room inside for an adult cat to comfortably move around. It came preassembled and the roof simply attaches with a clip on each side to secure it to the shelter making it easy to access the inside to clean when required.I purchased this as our cat (Teddy) now prefers to not come in the house after our German Shepherd arrived in the summer so wanted to make sure Teddy had a safe sheltered sleeping area outside during the coming winter months. I was not disappointed when this arrived and either was Teddy. I didn’t use the supplied legs to raise the shelter off the ground as we have an old coal storage shed that I converted into a raised platform to place the cat kennel on to ensure Teddy felt safe out of reach of the dog and other roaming animals that pass through our garden such as foxes. It took about 3 days before Teddy started to feel comfortable enough to sleep inside it and we initially enticed him inside it by placing his food bowl inside it. We have used some extra insulation foam and cardboard on the inside floor to help keep it warm during the winter but the construction is of such quality that this probably isn’t required and having his favourite sleeping mat inside would be plenty.This is perfect for anyone looking for a secure, warm, weather proof shelter for their outdoor feline.

This is an exeptionally well made cat shelter, whoever made it certainly had a pride in the quality of his/her workmanship! It is made from very good quality materials and is very pleasing to the eye. It is also very functional, there is easily enough room for two very large cats or three medium ones. It came fully erected, only the legs to screw on. I have added half an inch of polystyrene insulation to the four interior walls, the top and bottom already have heat retention (reflective) sheets fitted by the manufacturer. It also has a very high quality cat flap which also has a magnetic bottom strip to stop it swinging in the wind! Nice touch! It was also delivered the next day when I was expecting it to take three days. Brilliant! I am well pleased with every aspect of the product and the company that built and supplied it.

The cat shelter is very good and the legs were easy to screw on. It is fully waterproof and my visiting cat seems to like it.However I did ask the seller if I could choose a date for delivery and I was told it was possible. When I tried to book a date with DPD I had difficulty. It then arrived a week before that date! I was going away and it was just fortunate that I was in when it was delivered as it was too large to leave with neighbours. Suely DPD and the seller could have sorted this?!

The stray cat I'm feeding is going to love this shelter! Plenty of room and off the floor so he won't feel the cold. Once it's got straw in it and a cover over, he'll not want to get out of it.

I made a few additions..and painted it in pet friendly paint insulated the interior.and exterior bottom..the stray that lives at the bottom of the garden moved in today and loves it. Just put in a few treats and he was asleep in there an hour later. I would recommend this item well made came in one piece just add the legs ..although I made my own legs as I wanted the house higher off the ground and I also built a ramp and perching post and also a porch. I found a waterproof dog crate cover and so far in the rain there is no leaks.The size was a few centimetres shorter on the width but it made no difference actually it was better..more snug. still a great size for one cat. He can stretch out. He loves to sit on the roof which is sturdy.I Would buy again well worth the money.

Wooden Cat Kennel arrived in two halves as expected (top box ready assembled, just add legs). Pleased with top half, as already built including the cat flap door fitted in place but disappointed to find that the box had not been pre drilled with the 8 holes needed to connect the four legs via a manual screw driver. Electric/cordless screw driver was required to attach the legs, which I didn't have. Had to ask my neighbour to borrow a cordless/electric screw driver who kindly put the legs on for me. Due to old hand injury would not have been able to drill the holes so without my neighbours assistance, legs couldn't have been attached and item would have to be returned as do not want a kennel sat on the ground. Would have been five stars if the holes had been drilled for the legs.

Bought this to make a temporary night box in my quarantine aviary for birds can roost in it on cold nights, just added some perches to the enclosed end and put it up in the top end of the aviary right under the roof to prevent birds chewing the felt.Excellent value for money, well made, light weight to suspend and hold up while positioning but substantial enough for purpose, normally made these sort of things myself but for the price it honestly wasn’t worth buying the hard boars and spending ages making it especially as bought birds unplanned on Sunday and had to quarantine in small aviary with no shelter so neede up ASAP.I may need to cut a small window type hole and cover with Perspex to let light into enclosed end as birds are usually reluctant to enter dark spaces but will do at weekend.It will be easy to clean, put up and down as required.Amazing delivery speedordered late Sunday evening delivery date was estimated to be Saturday but was delivered today TUESDAY by 2pm.......Very impressed all roundWOULDN'T HESITATE TO BUY AGAIN....and will if I ever want another one for any other aviary it is almost perfect for the job...

Comes assembled, well made, speedy delivery, good price. The cat loves it and enjoys looking through the little window. Our cat is a large birman and fits in it just fine. If it was loads bigger it wouldn't stay so warm. I did line it with silver insulation and put straw in it as recommended. It's a hit. Would make great rabbit shelter in outdoor run too.
