Warm, protects against wind too!
This is an extremly useful piece of gear and does exactly what I need it to do. I use this balaclava every time I ride my fourwheeler (ATV) around rural Alaska. So far, I've used it as my sole headcovering (plus goggles) while riding in 30degree weather plus windchill and have felt very warm. Now that I have a helmet, I wear it underneath my helmet and it isn't bulky, actually makes the helmet easier to put on and remove, and keeps my neck and chin warm where my helmet does not. I'm happy with the quality, the microfleece is extremly warm and soft to the touch. I feel like it adequately covers my cheeks and nose. It creates a little issue with fogging of my glasses, but once I'm really moving I don't have a problem. I feel like it fits pretty well. As a female, I have had problems wearing most girly hats because I have a larger head circumference. I purchased a large size and I think it is a little bit roomy on me, but it also enables me to still wear my hair in an updo if needed. Not sure how it will hold up in rain or snow, but with a waterproof hood over it, will probably still be great.

Excellent for snow blowing and general outside work
I love this balaclava. I have been looking for a good solution for snow blowing and general outside work - and this is it. I have tried a number of solutions for working outside in the winter and this is the best I've found. The fit was good and I've found that it is a good overall temperature regulator. As I go from outside, to the garage, to inside, I can adjust it easily without taking it off. I recently used it outside when the temperature was negative and the windchill was extreme and I can attest that it works well even in very bitter cold conditions. For me, it keeps the perfect amount of breath going out - it keeps enough going out that there isn't a lot of moisture build up in the mask around the mouth and keeps enough in that my face feels warm. It works well with a hooded winter jacket to keep snow and wind off the back of the neck.

Warm and breathable
I bought this for doing farm work in the winter but it has become an all around use including hunting. The only drawback is it gets a little tight around the tip of my nose which is probably more prominent than average

A Rough Winter Must-Have!
I bought this face mask to use while snow blowing and shoveling at my house. I live in an area where we average 100" of snow every winter, so we spend A LOT of time outside moving snow from one spot to another. This mask has made the whole process much more comfortable. The material is very soft and the face part is very breathable and doesn't feel wet after wearing it for extended periods. The fit is very good and it's great at holding headphones in your ears so you can work as hard as you need while wearing it. You virtually cannot feel wind through the mask and it's very resistant to Snow/Ice/Water. The other nice part is having a hinge that allows you to pull the face piece down so that you can talk to people or whatever you need to do without screaming. Despite not using this for traditional purposes, it's a great item, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to keep their face warm during a rough winter season.

Great mask - but runs very small! Fits women better than men!
My husband and I are going skiing and we tried different balaclavas - and this is the one I’m going to keep. It says it’s a “men” balaclava and I ordered size S/M. But it fits me and with a head circumference of 21”/53cm my head is definitely smaller than most men’s. So it does run small and will probably fit women better than men. It runs VERY snug on me, but I like that because I’m going to wear a helmet over it. I like the mesh area over the mouth and that all seams are sewed flat so it’s comfortable under a helmet. Compared to other brands this one actually does not just look cozy from the outside, it’s fleece lined inside as well. If I could I’d take off half a star because of the sizing. (Advertised as a men’s mask but probably won’t fit a lot of men.) But since it seems to be great quality with several functions I’ll leave it to 5 stars.

Not for wearing under a modular motorcycle helmet with a headset installed
I bought this because I have been looking for a way to keep my nose, chin, and neck warm without fogging up the inside of my Bell modular motorcycle helmet. I tried it out on the first cold morning and discovered that as long as I was going slow or stopped, I had a fogging problem and I had to open the shield to clear it up. Things were fine on the freeway though except for the fact that the hinged design caused twice as much material over my ears which resulted in muffled music from my headset and my head felt like it was in a vice because of the extra layers of fleece between my ears and the speakers. The extra material also interfered with closing the helmet. That being said, this balaclava kept my face, chin and neck warm and there was plenty of material to cover my neck. This seems like it would be a fine garment for any application that doesn’t involve wearing a modular motorcycle helmet with a headset installed in it.

Keeps you warm and lets you breathe!
Hubby is an avid bike commuter and when I say avid, I mean - we live in Wisconsin and he bikes to and from work (about 15 miles roundtrip) every single day, even when the windchill is 50 below. I ordered this balaclava to give him a spare when his other is in the wash (boy do they get stinky fast!) and was worried about the fit because he has a bit of a bit head (and not just metaphorically!) but I was surprised to find that it actually runs big and we ended up combining it with his neck gator to make sure it would hold snug and not let the cold air in since it wasn't as tight as his other. Next time I'll watch the sizing more closely, but I was happy to find a a brand that when they say it will fit larger heads, it actually meant it. This balaclava has been warm and allows him to breath easily while biking even in the chillest of climates. He also likes that the top piece moves easily for him to adjust his earbuds while biking. Overall a great balaclava at a great price.

Looks cool, but keeps you warm.
Ordered this because I was tired of my face freezing this past winter while I walk from my car to campus and when I'm working (pizza delivery). I bought the L/XL size, figuring that if it was too big, at least I could still wear it. Head part fits well, but the face part is a tad bit loose, which is good because you don't want it to chafe your face when you go to remove it. For the most part, it does keep your head/face very warm, except for the mouth area, which, in my opinion, is slightly too big, and cold air does get through. I imagine that if I was wearing this in high winds, the mouth area's size would become a drawback. On the other hand, when you exhale, the mask contains the heat from your breath, which sort of offsets the cold air that gets through. The only bad thing about it is that my cousin asked me if I was trying to join ISIS (hurt my feelings a bit). Overall, I recommend it.
