If you want a quiet fan, this is the one for you. I've always liked Vornado products for their build quality, reliability and comfort. I went with the compact model (133DC) to be placed on the table or floor near my recliner in the living room. I didn't want it to be terribly noisy but did want something to supplement the house's main AC.This fan is likely the quietest fan I have owned and it's due to the variable speed motor. Just need a slight breeze, just slightly turn the dial. Need a hurricane force wind, crank the dial wide open. You get barely measurable noise levels up until you reach a 1/4 turn of the dial but get a nice breeze. You start noticing the fan's noise at about 1/2 a turn.The size is perfect for my use and I can see it being perfect for a bedside table or desktop. The appearance is nice but I do wish it came in a color other than white. Black, blue, beige or something would be nice to give you options. It's a more pricey compact fan but the variable speed motor easily justifies the cost.If you want a quiet fan that pushes out a decent amount of air, this Vornado fan should make everyone's short list of choices.

I bought the 133DC and it's such a cute little fan. I was disappointed to find out it's not made in the USA like Vornado used to do, but the build quality is nice. The lower 1/4 of the dial is very light airflow, but also almost inaudible. I usually use mine at 50% where it is quite audible, but it's mostly air noise and not motor noise. At 100% speed, the fan moves a ludicrous amount of air for its size! It's also very loud at 100% speed lol. I have it on the floor next to my desk and have to admit ITS SO DANG CUTE!!!! I didn't think I'd be so enamored by a FAN but here I am, looking at it and commenting on the internet about how adorable the little thing is.The only adjustments you get here are the tilt angle, and the speed dial. Both are very nice. The dial is a continuous sweep, no click clacks (except at the off position). The tilt moves smoothly and holds the fan firmly in place. The base is very solid and has rubber feet and the fan doesn't make any vibration noise at all. The 133DC has a regular power cord of a decent length, I assume the AD-DC converter is inside the base. I have heard some people say the base can get hot, but I haven't noticed that with mine in the couple of days I've had it. The 133DC doesn't have a remote control, but I think it doesn't need one since it's tiny and it has a very nice dial anyway. The diminutive size means you could fit it almost anywhere, including a crowded desk - but I do suggest putting it on the floor.

Small fan, big power. The variable power lets you dial in just the right amount of air flow. Very quiet at lower settings and acceptable at full power. Probably stronger than any other fans of a similar size. It’s a really small fan, so it’s best in small spaces, or close distance. Typical Vornado quality, you get what you pay for.Update:I’ve had this fan for a few weeks now, I really like it, having the variable speed is even better than I expected, you aren’t limited to 2 or 3 speeds, you can dial in the EXACT amount of airflow you want. Most compact fans have only 2 speeds. The lowest speed might be too low to be really useful unless you are only 1 foot away. If you had it on the desk you were sitting at maybe. I have it on the nightstand about 3’ away from me and I haven’t had it above 1/2 yet, and it is still quiet enough that it doesn’t interfere with my sleep. Unlike most fans, the power/speed control is on the front, much easier to deal with than the more typical rear mounted control. Especially if you’re in bed; just reach over and turn it on/off and up or down.This replaces the Vornado Pivot 3 that I’ve been using for the last couple years. This is a definite upgrade.

This fan is very efficient drawing from 1 watt at the lowest setting to 10 watts at the highest setting. My old fan of the same size drew 15 watts. So thus new fan is much more power efficient at all settings as compared to my old fan. At the highest setting, this fan really moves a lot of air. Much more than my old fan. When I use the variable speed control to dial down the new fan to the same sound level and air flow of the old fan, i am consuming only 4 watts of power. This is 1/4th the power consumption of the old fan. This is fantastic! The fan's base has four rubber nubs that keeps the fan from moving around unnecessarily. There is an instruction manual included but ir is not really needed. This is a great fan and draws so little power it's almost free to use.

LOUD at full speed, but that's to be expected. VERY GOOD at energy efficientcy. Soon after replacing our old fans with these more expensive Vornado fans, we noticed our first Utility bil was lower than usual for May and here in Florida April usually begins becoming warm weather while June hits the 90's. FAN-Tastic product, you pay for what you RESEARCH and then get and these Vornado's are a "No Brainer" for those who use one or more fansand are looking to save a lot more $$$ on thier electric bills. The Vornado fans are so energy efficient that they'll pay for themselves, before their 10 year warranty is done.

Refitting for better boondocking capacity. Reducing power needs is a big part of that. Health issues are aided with nice airflow and it is spendy to run the rooftop AC, even on fan @ 1500W each. Plus they need AC either via generator or inverter. So lots of power per hour and only a handful of hours to deplete even my 2320Ah of 12W battery storge (27.8KWh of power) if trying to run the overheads all night.These new brushless motor Voranado fans are a magic bullet for my use. I bought the 133DC this time and it can run non-stop for days if needed. It has a max draw of about 10W@110v on high (measured at 10.9W) and about 1.4W on low. I have it on a small 750W pure sine wave inverter plugged into an "accessory" plug (aka cigarette lighter adapter) which already is a low power draw. All my phones and such are on the same inverter and run all the time as well. Point there is the fan draws so little power it's not adding much to the load already on the inverter.I can now have a fan blowing all night when the overhead units are overkill. I can't wait to grab maybe the 533DC or such for the living room & kitchen area (it's a nice 38' RV so the Vornado's are nice for their air circulation over the simple blowing...helps me when air seems sort of 'stuffy' and harder to breathe...does that make sense?)I know I am super happy this whole new series of brushless motor fans has come out. If you don't know brushless, as a rule, means the device will use only 10-20% of the same motor with brushes.For the 133DC it is not big at all but still moves A LOT of air, perfect for your night stand or even on a shelf in the room. The RV bedroom is only about 9x12' give or take so a bigger fan really would be a bit of a chore to find a place to set it up or I'd need to build a shelf. It is also really light weight. I am going to use some Velcro straps to hold it down when driving or it's gonna go flying. ;)The true variable speed control is a nice return back to my original Vornado fans vs the odd change they made to the hi-med-low settings, that change actually got me to stop buying Vornado fans for a number of years. Maybe it's just the control freak part of me that needs that sort of setting? I just like being able to fine tune it a bit if I am in the mood.It will be simple to clean as well. Just a couple screws to open the fan cage and boom you can dust it easily. Oh it is lower in height than I was thinking which is nice as well. And of course the fan can be tilted to about level or to 90-deg up direct to the ceiling.Guess that's enough gushing over a danged silly fan but, ya know, some stuff just needs to be talked up a bit.

I didn’t know i would like this fan as much as I do.I use it exclusively for white noise for sleeping. I work night shift and so sleeping during the day can be tough.I used a jalopy of a box fan for sleep and that suited me just fine until it died.I had to replace it.The Vornado compact fan was perfect.It’s not as loud as my old fan but I keep it on the night stand about a foot from my head and run it at max speed.It, for whatever reason, helps me sleep better than the old one.I don’t use it for cooling so I can’t really speak to that.I do like that it has a small footprint.I also like the speed dial being an infinity type of selection rather than a 1-2-3-4 setting type.

TLDR:The only fan brand I use because it’s the best! This is my 4th Vornado in my home. Works great on the bathroom counter. Keeps me cool and helps dry my skincare applications.What I liked:I love this brand and use these throughout my home. I love the compact size, adjustable airflow, and energy efficiency. It doesn’t take up too much space on my bathroom counter. I’m using this to stay cool and dry my skincare between layers. I like that I can tilt it and dial in the exact air flow I want. It’s also very quiet. And it’s a great value for the price.What could be better:While I love all my Vornado fans, the aesthetics aren’t the best. But that doesn’t deter me from buying and using them.Size:This is a compact size, so it would be great as a desk fan or countertop fan.Durability/maintenance:Well, I haven’t had this long but I can say that I bought my first Vornado in 2012, and I am still using it in 2025! It’s also survived numerous moves to include international relocations. So I’m feeling pretty good about this one. These fans will collect dust so I unscrew the front and use a swift duster to wipe it down as needed.Would I recommend:This is best for someone who wants a high quality, durable, energy efficient, compact sized fan. Maybe for the bathroom vanity to dry skincare or makeup setting spray. Maybe on a desk to stay cool while working/studying.About my photo:Photo shows this fan on my bathroom vanity. I put a little tray underneath to keep it higher off the sink. Hopefully, to ensure it doesn’t get wet.

Great little fan very powerful and excellent in running costs, I've seen a few reviews saying that they returned it because it had an American plug, i guess they've never heard of an adapter, luckily i had one in my spare drawer. So you should buy an adapter when you get the fan. I haven't checked but I'd imagine they're only a few quid.

I bought this fan to replace an old fan that was starting to make noise. I use it on my nightstand as white noise to help me sleep. The Vornado has been excellent so far. It's quiet, smooth, and I really like the variable speed knob to fine tune the air movement and noise level. It's a neat looking little fan as well, and not out of place in my bedroom. Highly recommended.

Powerful and silent. With very good control.

Small footprint. Easy dial in front for setting speed. Quiet at 1/2 & 3/4 speed. I’ve found that putting it at the highest setting gives no more benefit and is noisy. It throws the air to a great distance giving a cooling effect. Since it’s lightweight, it’s easy to move around. Definitely worth buying.

This product is totally unsuited for the UK market. It came with a USA plug and voltage was 110, Worse still, an amount was deducted from the return credit. Grossly unfair as it was the wrong product shipped.
