Getting the Correct Size is Most Important
I had tried to use a harness when my black lab was younger, but she was a big chewer and ended up chewing through the material. I was hesitant at first to try again but I had to do something about her pulling. I am not an old woman, but I am getting up in age (just over 60) and have had various structural issues with my body. As such it would be very bad if my dog who at 4 years (5 in July) were to pull me over. She is a combination of an English and American lab and is big at 80 lbs and strong, with a broad chest. She is extremely well trained and I was able to stop putting the training collar on for a while. When she started to pull (only when she sees someone she knows and esp if the person has a dog), I knew it would be trouble if I did not nip it in the bud. At first I tried making her wear the training collar. It actually worked, and I never even had to press the vibrate button. It was as though just the presence of the collar made her pay more attention to what my commands were. People I know were all talking about the benefits of getting a harness. My hesitation was in thinking that if she had a harness, the when she pulled, she would be able to put her full weight behind it and I would surely end up on the ground.. So I decided to try a harness. I looked at many and read lots of reviews and when I found the BarkBay and it had over 7000 reviews, I thought that is the one to try. (Do yourself a favor and make sure to measure your dog's girth, do not go by your dog's weight as it will be a less accurate measurement for size.) Ariana has been wearing the harness for a month now and it has made a huge difference. She does not pull anymore, even if she sees her "best dog friend" ahead and coming out way. Instead she listens to me when I say sit, and make her wait for the other dog to come to her. The only issue I had was one time when she was being stubborn and I went to pull her towards me but instead managed to putt the harness over her head and off. (Luckily that good training that I put her through worked and she immediately sat and waited for me to adjust the tightness of the harness itself.... that is called "human operator error" so it should have no bearing on the way you decide whether or not to buy one. And it has a feature that i figured out works better when she gets it in her mind that she wants to be the boss and lead (besides tightening the harness). There is a ring to which I clip the leash that is in the middle of her back (That was what enabled me to pull the loose harness off.) However there is another ring on the front center of her chest that gives you another place to attatch the leash. If she gets stubborn and sits down and will not move, I just change the clip from the top connector to the front one and I am then able to pull her from places the wants to go (as if she is the boss! Haha, as if...,I am not sure that this review is helpful because I am not going into the nitty gritty of how it works, etc. However, I will say that I have suggested to a friend who lives in my neighborhood and is 79 years old, tht she get one. Her dog is a Black Mouthed Curr and when he gets excited to see another dog (esp. mine) he goes "nutso" (excuse the language please). She and her husband did purchase a BarkBay harness and when I saw them using it yesterday, they were so excited that I had recommended it to them because, as they put it, "this thing really works. It made me happy to hear and that is why I decided to go ahead and review my purchase. If it works for me and it works for my friends, it will work for you too. Go ahead and get one; it has been a great help to me and it should be for you too!! Good luck.

Great Harness
I have bought 4 of these in various sizes as my dogs have grown. I have one dog that does everything she can to get it off including grating against our brick house. After a year she was finally able to break one of the plastic clasps. Even though the straps were getting frayed, they never broke. Easy to adjust and put on/take off. Iโm not a fan of collars because of choking but these harnesses donโt go against the throat. Great product.

Well Made
Purchased this so my dog and I would be a little more visible at dusk and dawn. Harness is well made and easy to put on. Seems comfortable but you would have to ask my dog that one. Handle is a little smaller that I hoped. Overall, I recommend it.

Strong
I have a 110 lbs beef cake of a dog who had a problem with pulling on walks. It definitely helped me gain control of her. This harness is easy to use, easy to tighten and loosen, itโs comfortable, the tag slot is convenient and itโs easy to clean. Itโs also great for dogs who know how to get out of a harness or like to chew them off. The positioning of the harness makes it hard to reach to chew and if itโs on correctly they canโt get out of it.

The rear straps acutally stay snug.
I purchased a harness from a pet store and was not impressed with it. The straps kept getting loose while walking a Beagle.Purchased the Barkbay harness and was impressed with it's rear straps actually having buckles like a belt. The rear straps stay snug on the Beagle. She likes to pull a lot so the front straps get loose. After I walk her, I snug up the front straps for her next walk. She gets rewarded with a once a day walk, so it is not a huge problem. She has a decent sized fenced in back yard to run and the harness is only used for walking and taking her to the Vet.

Great but not for my dog
This harness is a well made harness , that is padded ( bit bulky) for comfort and (Neon )Pink! So...I am returning it as it is too heavy and bulky ( and bright) for my Malty Poodle mix doggie.

Well worth it for strong, excitable, large dogs
I have a very excitable / very strong 3yr old Labour. Tried a few different "supposed" anti-pull harnesses in the past as he has grown but I am absolutely amazed with this one. He is quite big for his age ( not chubby by the way! ) and got the XL size, fits great and no issues at all. Would 110% recommend this from my experience. Totally transformed him when on a short lead.

Actually stopped dog pulling
This harness actually stopped our very bouncy Labrador from continually pulling on the lead as the front hook swings her around to face me if she pulls! Brilliant. I was getting worried about her pulling me over as Iโm getting elderly and now itโs like walking a different dog!

Slides and expands when dog pulls
Had this a few weeks now and not great..in fact no longer use..harness starts to slip and slide and then just becomes loose dangles to one side of her body and under her legs once my 8 month lab starts to pull so after 5 minutes I have to resort to attaching her lead to her normal collar...totally pointless...now thrown in the bin...waste of money ๐ก

Adjusts well and doesn't wear our dogs loose fur
The XL fits our Lab X, who has a deep chest and weighs in at 47kg, with the adjustments in the centre. It seems well made and is easy to put on and adjust. Early days, so not sure of longevity and if it will work in the long term. Couldn't failt the delivery, ordered in the evening , arrived next morning!
