Moderator Cymbal-Tuner Double Set 80mm

I play in all sorts of gigs in clubs around the San Francisco Bay Area. I generally have to choose very carefully which cymbals I bring to which gigs so the rooms sound under control. Adding these under my cymbals really changes the game, it's like I have twice as many sets! I love Paiste 602s but they can be a little too transparent and bright in certain settings. The 70mm and 80mm Modulators on a 18" and 20" ride really mellows them out in volume but they still retain that 602 quality that I love so much. These are very simple yet effective solution to taming overtones in rooms where you might not want them. Thanks!

Does exactly what its supposed to do. Definitely controls overtones.

I had a 22" ride cymbal that gave a loud sustaining tone that I did not like. These dampened it a little but not enough. I got rid of the cymbal.

I was actually surprised how well these dampen your ride cymbal. They can bring out a more dry sound character of the cymbal and also lower the volume for small venues. I would recommend trying.

Questi moderatori sono eccezionali, abbassano il volume dei piatti permettendo di suonare anche con piatti dal diametro molto largo o dal suono aggressivo in contesti come piccoli club e situazioni acustiche dove i volumi devono essere contenuti. Basta metterne uno sotto al piatto che si desidera attutire e il gioco è fatto.

Bene, ho potuto provare il Cympad Moderator, nella versione grande da 80mm. L'ho utilizzato sul ride e il secondo, impropriamente sul charleston.Il mio scopo era ridurre un po' il suono dei piatti silent di Zildjian. In particolare le frequenze alte.Lo scopo è stato raggiunto, ma in misura molto ridotta e sogettiva, nel senso che io non mi aspettavo una riduzione di chissà quanto del volume, ma solo della sezione alta del suono, in questo senso un po' funziona, anche se la quantità può non essere sufficiente per le vostre esigenze (paradossalmente un po' di scotch carta ha un impatto parecchio superiore), tuttavia il piatto adesso suona in maniera un po' più equilibrata in termini di gamma sonora, e credo che lo scopo per cui questi oggetti sono stati creati sia questo, per cui la loro funzione la assolvono. Il nome può risultare un po' ingannevole e portare a fraintendimenti sulla quantità di suono ridotto, per cui 4 stelle su 5.
