Great product!
These are really well made and the material is perfect for the purpose. Yes, you could probably find similar foam material and cut them yourself, but for the money these are great and perfectly shaped.I'm very happy with these 50's. I previously purchased a pair of the MD70's and they muted the cymbals a bit too much. The 50mm are just right for the sound I'm looking for, but I still mix in the 70's to get specific sounds on bigger/brighter cymbals. I also know someone who uses these PLUS a bit of tape on the cymbal underneath to remove additional unwanted overtones, which is also an option. Some drummers might argue against using these (or even tape) at all and that finding the right cymbal in the first place might be better. However, I think it's great to have products like this to help modify and change the way cymbals can sound - because of the need for "quiet practice", specific recording needs, or simply to enhance/change/explore new realms of percussive possibilities.

Cympad 50mm
I like these cympads better then felts. I have the 70mm, 60mm, 50mm, 40mm and hi-hat set. I use the 70mm cympad for a SKB cymbal case to protect my cymbals when transporting them. I don't use the 50mm and 60mm much. I like the hi-hat set and 40mm.

Mieux que le gaff!
Idéal pour limiter le volume des cymbales sans perdre trop de grain.Je pense que tout les ingé son devraient en avoir 4 ou 5 dans leur mallette.

Excellent for real cymbals with Electronic Triggers
They did exactly what I needed them to do. I have a full acoustic, mesh headed, drum kit with real cymbals (muted) set up in my 'Man Cave', each cymbal is then electronically triggering to an i/o box routed into an Apple Mac, with drum software for headphone or amplifier output and recording. Works great without disturbing any neighbours or nervous pets!I ordered the Cympad Moderators specifically to stop vibration transfer into or from cymbal hardware, via drums, in order to reduce any X-Talk (cross talk between different triggers) as an experiment. It worked, much better then using standard felts, so I now have Cympad Moderators under all my cymbals. So if your trying to reduce vibration transfer into your cymbal mounting hardware, whether standard cymbal set up or muted electronic conversion, then I can fully recommend this product. They are also wider than traditional felts so offer more support for the cymbal as well.
