85-5512 B25J Mitchell 1:48 Scale Model Airplane Building Kit

Thought it was a really fun model. Loved the detail and the options.

I really enjoyed putting this model together. After building models when I was a kid, I decided to try my hand at it again in adulthood. I have never painted my models when I was a kid, so I wanted to do this with the new ones I was putting together. I had built another Revell 1:48 scale model before this, a P-51 Mustang. In all honesty, I botched that one, and should have completed a few more smaller ones before I attempted this one. It'll use a lot of paint and glue. It's quite big (maybe a foot and a half wingspan or so), so make sure you have enough room to put it (I hung it from the ceiling in my workshop). It took me a long time to complete, but most of that was painting honestly. I always build my models with the landing gears up. It was sort of difficult to do that with this model, as it was made to be built with the landing gears down. So I ended up with some uneven surfaces and gaps in the landing gear bay/cover areas. All and all I am very happy with this model. The B-25 Mitchell has to be one of the sexiest WWII bombers and it looks as such in my workshop.

I build scale models of different subjects. However, I have only built an airplane once and needed some practice. Revell has some very good models at a variety of price points. I was using this model, not as a display but for practice. I was pleased with the quality at this price. It had some flash, but I always trim and clean my models, so it was just a regular aspect of a build. The number of fit issues was far less than anticipated. This kit will require more attention than those at a higher price. It would be an excellent beginners kit; reasonable price and not too involved. A great project that can be done as a family project.

Right out of the box, the parts and the instructions look very good. It should be an easy build due to the size of the model parts

The Revell model kit makes a lot of fun to build, not everything is perfect but has not to be, that's part of the challenge of this hobby. In my opinion not for beginners. The kit needs a bit of experience and skill to build for a good result. About 70-80 grams balance weight in the nose area and inside of the engine cowlings are required for balancing, so that the model stands on the nose wheel without the support on the rear fuselage, not easy to hide. In total a very good model kit of the North American B-25 Mitchell bomber, therefor in total 5 *

This was a fun build but be prepared to use a lot of putty and sanding as parts didn’t fit together well. Also, the front windows were frustrating to fit together. Make sure you use plenty of clamps. The final product looks great!

poor job on the holes, they don't line up. Some parts are out of shape. This is my first plane, working on my second one now. This one is even worse. The box was not wrapped up, it was crushed and had broken parts. I'll stick to cars and truck models.

I was expecting the model to be green instead of gray. But my olive drab paint job tuned out better than OK. Starting to super glue the B-25 together. A cool tip on testers paints, is don't waste their paint thinner on cleaning spray nozzles, & paint brushes. Use WD-40 spray on both, & save the thinner for thinning paint. My dad taught me to turn rattle cans upside down to spray clean the nozzles out. But that is a Waste of paint, and propellants, right? WD- 40 is cheaper per oz. than model paint by like 60%. Buying Paint thinner in a Quart or half gallon saves money too.

旧モノグラム金型製品で半世紀近い昔のキットですが、最近HKモデルからキットが出るまでは永く1/48スケール唯一のB-25Jとして貴重な存在でした。 古いキットなので筋彫りこそ凸モールドですが、プロポーションやディテールはなかなかの出来で、さすが名門メーカーのモノグラムと思えるキットです。 金型が相応にくたびれているのでパーツ嵌合は今ひとつですが、削り合わせやパテ盛り整形を心得ているモデラーなら問題ないでしょう。 よく輸入キットにもかかわらず、説明書が日本語ではないと文句を言うレビューを見掛けますが、輸入代理店は日本語説明書を入れる様な面倒かつコストのかかる事は普通しませんし、説明書は日本語でなければ嫌だという人は最初から輸入キットに手を出すべきではないでしょう。

Haven’t opened it yet but product seems great and definitely worth the price paid

Poor condition of injection moulded plastic, Transfers were so old they cracked when trying to adhere. Box looked like it had been knocked around in transport. Wont do this again buy local!!
