Bought this to upgrade my drill from a keyless Chuck that was garbage. This was easy to switch on and seems to be pretty sturdy and works perfectly.

I always had keyed chucks on drills. The keyless ones ALWAYS loosen while using or get stuck on the new drills. This is a GREAT fix for a drill you like but the keyless chuck is driving you nuts. Don't keep cussing or throw the drill out. Fix it. It'll save you some money and you'll actually like using the drill instead of swearing at it.

Like the other reviewer, I used this for a hand drill. Unfortunately, my hand drill turned out to be 7/16-24. One inverted flange adapter later, no problem. Back to the chuck.It tightens very well, seems very well machined, and turns true. I can't think of any reason I should complain. I guess it isn't a 1/2" chuck, but you know what? It costs less than half what a 1/2" chuck costs and would be useless for the application of a hand drill. I'll save that kinda work for my bit brace.I suppose if you like tool-less chucks, then you won't like this so much. The jaws have great grip and there's no appreciable texturing. When you tighten down a bit, it isn't going anywhere. This being a threaded chuck, if you try to use it as a tool-less chuck, you'll just wind up loosening it or something.

Works perfectly and you can't beat the price. I like the style of key they used, it makes tightening/loosening it easy without having to use weird hand placement and seems pretty sturdy. Seems like a well made, sturdy product to me but I guess it depends on what you plan to use it for. I had no problem using it to drill through thick bolts at any speed and it securely holds all of my bits, even odd shaped ones, while still keeping them perfectly straight throughout the process.

The chuck was a perfect fit to repair my favorite (albeit old) corded drill, and deserves 5 stars.The seller, on the other hand should receive 1 star. I ordered the item on a Sunday and chose to wait for Amazon delivery day on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I was notified, delivery would be delayed until Saturday, then Sunday (on which Amazon RARELY delivers on Sunday.) I didn't check my email over the weekend, and Monday arrived with a notice, sent on Friday, I needed to verify I still wanted the item. Since I did not reply until Monday, the item was cancelled.So, I reordered the item. (Hurry only 7 left!) and the same process happened again. It took almost 3 weeks to get this item delivered to my home!! Absolutely ABSURD. Pay a few more dollars and purchase from another seller!!

Good overall quality, lever on Chuck key too short for fully tightening chuck. Luckily original old key fitted.
