Rayne Rival Freeride Downhill Longboard Skateboard

I half-heartedly bought this deck 4 months ago with the vague intent of possibly using it for an electric build...it sat in it's bag all that time, while I hemmed and hawed about builds. In the meantime I'd built up a Bustin Cigar pusher...sweet, but it was quite high and my push foot seems permanently injured. In frustration I transferred it all to the Rival, slapped on some decent translucent grip tape and wow! Not only does it visually pop, looking like a sexy shop build...it rides and carves like my old Burton Balance snowboard! All the boards carefully designed curves and pockets translate to such a locked in feel that's fantastic for carving...I had no idea! The design is smart- the combination of upward indented truck mount pockets and downward foot drops give it almost the same low ride as a drop through, around 1/2" total...but retaining the top mount carving pressure advantage...I am impressed! The violent cartoon graphics grew on me...the fantastic Rayne build quality is clearly superior to any Chinese board, the vertical laminated bamboo combined with fiberglass makes for a board that would normally be too stiff for me...it's the advanced foot pocketed, radial design that makes it carve so great, and not any flex...amazing! My build: Zuext translucent grip tape, DIY custom 1/16" rubber truck shock pads (for minimal rise), Paris v2 195mm trucks with Venom SHR 91A barrel/cone bushings all around and Riptide pivot cups, Muirskate Podium 73mm DH race wheels with Zealous bearings...this setup just rips, it's a joy to carve! The only downside is that it's just such a pure and perfect freeriding gravity board...I just can't make it an electric, it would be sacrilege!! lol! If only I could score a second one at the price I paid! Thanks Windy City for such a great price on such a gorgeous deck...I only wish you had another for me...

Bamboo Sandwich construction is awesome and the craftsmanship is top notch on the Rayne deck. Used it for an esk8 DIY build and could not be happier!

Very nice deck I purchased it for a custom electric skateboard build I would definitely recommend these decks for skateboarding where electric skateboarding
