I was very excited about this product since I’ve heard so many good things from people I know.I have oily/combination skin and I found this serum not moisturizing at all. My skin didn’t absorb the serum. After a couple of days, I started to breakout.

Absolutely love this product! The serum is light and did not leave my face feeling greasy or oily. Instead, my skin is brighter, softer and hydrated. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth. A small amount definitely goes a long way!

I have been using this product daily since receiving it about a week ago. So far, I've found it moisturizes well, but I haven't noticed any great improvement in my skin's tone or texture compared to my usual daily moisturizer.The first thing I noticed about this product was the scent. It has a bit of a citrusy-chemical smell to it, which I can't say I'm a fan of. The serum itself is quite concentrated. It isn't thick, per se, but it takes a very long time to absorb into the skin. Like, my skin still feels a bit sticky well over half an hour after application. It's a bit irritating that it's not faster absorbing. But the concentrated formula does mean a little goes a long, long way. I'm sure this bottle will last me some time.As for how it interacts with my skin, I immediately feel a slight warming sensation. My skin does feel noticeably soft after application, and the product moisturizes pretty well. I appreciate that it does not clog my pores or make me break out, since I do have very, very sensitive skin. All that being said, I'm not seeing any stark difference between this and my typical moisturizer, which runs me about $20 for two two-ounce bottles that seemingly last forever. My skin doesn't look any clearer, smoother, or more radiant. Since it is so pricey and takes forever to absorb, I can't say I'd probably purchase this item again. If, however, I notice more results after prolonged use, I will update my review accordingly.

I'm going to start off by mentioning the heat because it was quite disconcerting the first time that I used this: once the product hits skin, it warms up. A lot. At first, I really struggled with the overwhelming urge to wash my face off, but I waited a while and once the heat dissipated, I didn't notice any redness or irritation on my skin so I left the product on my face.I do have extraordinarily sensitive skin, and not only did I not notice any irritation that time, I haven't seen anything like that as time has gone on either, and I've used this numerous times.So, while it doesn't seem to cause problems (redness, breakouts, etc.) with sensitive skin, it also doesn't do much. Maybe there is a little bit of beneficial moisturization but not a lot. I haven't noticed any brightening or fading of acne scars/hyperpigmentation. It is possible, of course, that such things will require this being used consistently for a long span of time which is why I haven't seen any real benefits at this point.Still, I don't feel like this hurts anything, so I'll keep using it in the hopes that I may start to see better results.

When I tried this product out, I only treated one area of my face. I used my regular moisturizer for the rest of my face (Jason vitamin E lotion). I didn't see any difference between the two products.This serum has a strange scent to it. In high school, we had a science experiment where we heated wood at just the right temperature. I think we made wood alcohol or something. The strongest memory I have from that lab was the resulting scent, which I think this serum smells like.One thing I didn't expect was the heat. When I apply this serum to my skin, I feel it giving off warmth. No one else mentions it, so I wonder if it is a mild allergic reaction on my part. My skin doesn't turn red, though.I have allergies and sensitive skin, so I have to be careful about the products I use. This product did not irritate my skin or aggravate my allergies.

Skincare is very important, but is most effective with a consistent routine that typically consists of a good cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. Prior to trying the C Defense Serum, I had not heard of the brand and decided to see how it stands in comparison to other leading brands.While the product line boosts that it is oil free, I find it a little misleading because the consistency felt rather oily. Only a very minimal amount is needed (1-2 pumps max). You must allow it to be fully absorbed in your skin before applying moisturizer or make-up. Personally, I would use this serum nightly rather than day/night if you tend to have oiler skin.I have noticed a few more breakouts after trying the product- which is expected when your skin doesn’t agree with a product or is slowly adapting.PROS:Adds hydration back in skinVisibly treating my sun spotsCONS:ExpensiveOily consistency

This serum seems to have given me minor results, but not enough to overcome the few issues that I have with it.* The smell is really strange and I don't find it to be pleasant at all. Maybe chemical like - I'm not really sure.* The texture is much more like and oil than a serum. While I don't mind the oil consistency, it takes this product a long time to stop feeling sticky so I'm unable to apply my primer and foundation for probably about 10 minutes after use. *It gives a bit of a hot feeling when I apply it, but no tingling. It's hard to explain for but some reason that sensation is also unpleasant to me. I usually like a product that tingles or feels fresh, but I don't like the heat feeling of this one.As far as positives, a little bit of this product goes a long ways. One small squirt covers my whole face and neck. I can circumvent the issue of sticky skin if I just use it at night, so that could eliminate one issue. I do feel that it has slightly improved the overall appearance of my skin, but probably not to the extent that I would purchase it again in the future.
