The awnings overhang about 7+ inches and go all the way to the ground to protect the doors and seams from driving/splashing rain. The fluted corrugated shell repels water and snow very well. It comes fully assembled and is ready to deploy right away. Just affix awnings with simple clips included. Important: Our roof is insulated, we have two doors so your cat doesn’t get trapped by a predator. One doors models on the market today get cats trapped by predators and experts will tell you ferals need two doors. Our doors close, our awnings are huge and go all the way to the ground, designed as a cat house, snug an cozy so your cat doesn’t have to heat up a large space. Very important: The Cat Barn is designed to protect cats in the most extreme conditions. You have to go where the cats are we know. But if you can add these touches your cat will appreciate it even more. Elevate if off the ground by using bricks or blocks. This helps keep rain splashing on doors to a minimum. Deploy in the sun if possible. Adjust the door tension by pulling up on the ear tips to make it easier for the door to open or pull down near the mouth to make the doors shut tighter. The cat barn is light and easy to carry. If you need to deploy in a high wind area surround the base of the shelter near the legs with black river rocks. They will keep Cat Barn in place and heat up to keep kitty’s house warmer.
